Role Description

We are looking for a skilled and passionate Middleware Architect to join our Architecture team at Societe Generale Global Solution Centre (GSC) in Bengaluru.

This is a full-time role within the GTE/ARC organization, offering flexibility for remote work.

The Middleware Architect will be responsible for defining, designing, and governing middleware architecture across ETL/BI platforms, application servers, and integration layers. The role will focus on ensuring robust, scalable, and compliant middleware solutions supporting data processing, reporting, and application runtime environments, aligned with Group architecture standards and DMP (Data & Middleware Platform) priorities.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Define and promote middleware architecture standards, patterns, and best practices across ETL, reporting, and application server platforms.
• Design and review ETL/BI architectures (SSIS, SSRS) ensuring scalability, performance, and maintainability.
• Provide architecture guidance for application server environments and runtime platforms.
• Support data processing, integration, and reporting use cases within DMP and related programs.
• Collaborate with Data, Application, and Infrastructure Architects to ensure end-to-end solution coherence.
• Review solution designs to ensure alignment with Group architecture standards and operational constraints.
• Identify gaps in existing middleware platforms and propose improvements or modernization initiatives.
• Analyze existing ETL, reporting, and middleware setups and recommend optimization and rationalization opportunities.
• Support migration initiatives (legacy to modern platforms, hybrid/cloud transformations).
• Ensure performance tuning, resilience, and availability of middleware components.
• Define best practices for job scheduling, data pipelines, batch processing, and reporting workloads.
• Contribute to governance activities including architecture reviews and design validation.
• Conduct POCs and architecture studies to validate new middleware technologies and solutions.
