THE V.I.E PROGRAMME
“ I wanted to travel - and found a new job as a bonus ”A professional and personal adventure
The choice is there. And it isn’t an easy one. For students or recent graduates, the call to travel is urgent, but so is the desire to start their career once and for all. But what if you could do both?
The International Corporate Volunteer program, or V.I.E (Volontariat International en Entreprise), is your chance to embark upon an adventure, both personal and professional in equal measure, and discover a profession in a new country.
The Société Générale Group is the French company offering the most V.I.Es in France. Like Flora, Caroline, and many more, join our teams in the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Hong Kong… There’s a destination for every ambition!
The best path towards a permanent contract
A V.I.E mission offers you 6 to 24 highly formative months on an international team – an extremely high-value experience that can lead to a permanent contract either on-site or elsewhere!

Leaving and arriving on the best terms
The adventure begins, and you’re not alone. We know that the first days in a new culture and in a new job are critical. As soon as you walk in, everything is done to facilitate your arrival. The Group offers you logistical support, as Caroline attests:
“We get help opening a bank account and finding a place to live. We get excellent support.”
Integration into your new team is just as carefully prepared.
“The on-boarding in the UK is very well managed. On the first day, the HR team debriefs you all morning, then your immediate managers come to pick you up in person. You use the lunch break to get to know each other a little better before meeting the team and discovering the office. It was a very welcoming experience for me.”
Caroline, on her V.I.E in London.

Closing remarks, by Caroline
“You quickly feel settled in, and I’d even say that it goes by pretty quickly. I learned a lot thanks to the training I got throughout my V.I.E. In the day-to-day, the Société Générale network becomes our second family. It’s a full, and very pleasant, immersion.”
Recruitment process
After checking that you are fully eligible for V.I.E, send your application for an offer on our site.
If your application is been accepted by the recruitment teams, you will be asked to complete some online tests (English test, logic test and so on).
Once you have passed your tests, you have an interview with the manager, often on Skype. It is a fit? Then you will be made an offer.
The recruitment teams support you in your administrative formalities with Business France, the French agency for business development abroad that manages V.I.Es.
With your visa in your pocket (if required) and your contract signed, off you go on your assignment abroad, for integration into the Societe Generale teams!
