Cobol Developer
Responsibilities
As a Cobol Developer within the TRA (Trade Finance) tribe, you will contribute to a global release train on a common core banking product. You will ensure Features developed by your team are duly analyzed, specified, developed, tested and deployed while managing the dependencies with the rest of the release train.
The key responsibilities of the successful candidate will include:
Decomposing technical and functional requests into detailed user stories by interacting with the Product Owner and the Feature team
Developing code using software best practices Craftsmanship (such as BDD, TDD, continuous integration, legacy refactoring and Continuous Delivery)
Participating in the team's testing, deployment and production activities to ensure production stability by applying the guidelines provided by Chapters (communities of practice)
Integrating the vendor software into Société Générale IT ecosystem
Implementing and maintaining a CI/CD pipeline
Participating in Application support (“You build it, you run it”): analyzing incidents, problems and requests, and coordinating with other teams till closure
Ensuring application operations: monitoring, alerting, resiliency, ITRM... with the help of the application manager
Keeping process & documentation up to date
Technologies used: Cobol, JCL, Java, Mainframe, CICS, zOS (Legacy), Git, API, Cloud (target)
Profile required
We expect from the candidates:
At least 3 years of experience as a Cobol developer/ software engineer
Understanding of Agile and Project methodologies: Scrum, SAFe, Agile and Waterfall
Proficiency in English (Polish is a strong plus)
High analytical skills
Good interpersonal and communication skills, with flexible approach
Curiosity and openness to explore other technologies
Able to work autonomously, take initiatives and challenge & improve legacy
Organized and able to prioritize work
