Communication Lead, China
Responsibilities
Based in Beijing, the Communications Lead for Societe Generale China is responsible for defining and executing the communication strategy for the Corporate & Investment Banking activities across Mainland China.
Working in close alignment with the Asia-Pacific Communications team and local management, the role drives Societe Generale’s corporate profile, supports business priorities, and ensures consistent, compliant and impactful communications across all channels.
Key Responsibilities
Communication Strategy & Execution
- Define and implement the communication roadmap for Mainland China, aligned with regional strategy and business priorities
- Contribute to regional communication initiatives and strategic planning
- Enhance Societe Générale’s visibility and positioning across key audiences (clients, media, employees, regulators)
Content, Digital & Brand
- Develop and deliver high-quality editorial content highlighting business expertise and corporate culture
- Manage local digital platforms (including WeChat and website), ensuring effective content distribution and engagement
- Ensure strict application of brand guidelines across all materials and campaigns
- Support regional campaigns and local advertising initiatives
Events & Partnerships
- Lead the organization of client, corporate and internal events in collaboration with business lines
- Identify and manage local partnerships aligned with SG’s brand (e.g., culture, sports, inclusion)
Media Relations & External Engagement
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key media and journalists
- Support and prepare local spokespeople for media interactions
- Drive proactive media engagement to promote the Bank’s activities and expertise
Governance, Budget & Coordination
- Manage the local communications budget
- Monitor and report on communication performance and impact
- Ensure compliance with Group communication policies and governance framework
- Coordinate closely with APAC communications teams and external agencies
Profile required
- 5years or above experience in corporate communications, ideally within financial services
- Strong writing and content development skills in Chinese and English
- Solid understanding of digital ecosystems in China (incl. WeChat)
- Proven ability to manage multiple stakeholders in a matrix environment
- Proactive, hands-on, and solution-oriented with strong team spirit
- High level of integrity, adaptability, and attention to detail
