Consultant Expert - Operational Risk Specialist for NFR UK

Responsibilities

The scope of work will be SG London Branch (SGLB) & SG International Limited (SGIL). Key responsibilities include:

·  Support the implementation and ongoing enhancement of BU/SU ‘s operational risk management framework.

·  Deliver assigned operational risk activities with a high degree of ownership, sound judgement and proactive stakeholder engagement, operating with limited supervision from the UK team.

·  Support the effectiveness and compliance of the BU / SU ‘s operational risk management processes and sontrols.

·  Review and challenge the application of operational risk standards and standards, including requests for exceptions where applicable.

·  Support the embedding and ongoing enhancement of operational risk frameworks, including TPRM, NPSC, Incident Management, RCSA, Risk Acceptance and related governance processes.

·  Assist the UK team in the review of significant business incidents providing independent challenge on the root cause analysis, remediation actions plan and loss assessment and supporting preparation of the RISQ/NFR Incident Memos.

·  Support the preparation of risk committee materials and governance reporting, taking ownership of assigned sections and ensuring timely and accurate delivery.

·  Support RISQ/NFR in delivering risk management initiatives through risk analysis, independent assessments and informed opinions on risk exposures and control effectiveness.

·  Demonstrate a high level of autonomy in managing priorities, planning deliverables, identifying issues and escalating risks appropriately to UK management.

·  Review and challenge Risk and Control Self-Assessment (RCSA) completed by LOD1 and support RISQ/NFR in preparation of UK LRE RCSA memos and related documentation

·  Independently coordinate and manage assigned operational risk activities, ensuring timely delivery and quality outcomes while keeping relevant UK stakeholders informed.

·   Proactively identify emerging risks, control weaknesses and themes requiring management attention.

·  Prepare clear and concise risk summaries, governance materials and management reporting for review by UK stakeholders.

·  Work closely with the UK RISQ/NFR team leads and escalate issues appropriately where management attention or resolution is required.

Profile required

·   A good knowledge of the overall operational risk framework, such as: TPRM (third party risk management); Internal incidents investigation and management; RCSA; scenario assessments; operational resilience, Fraud risks, risk acceptance; NPSC (new product oversight), Risk issue management and KRIs (key risk indicators).

·   Experience in developing and documenting governance processes supporting operational risk frameworks.

·   Experience in conducting risk reviews on business activities or a thematic topic related to business risk independently.

·   Good understanding of Wholesale BUs/SUs, the inherent risks they generate, and best practice control frameworks.

·   Solid understanding of the various Business and Service Units operating in a Financial Institution

·   Strong knowledge of risk management, specifically operational risks, related to wholesale activities (FO, MO and BO).

·   Ability to independently assess information, draw risk-based conclusions and formulate practical recommendations.

·   Experience preparing management information, governance packs, risk summaries and other materials for senior stakeholders.

·   Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify themes, trends and potential risk exposures from multiple data sources.

·   Good knowledge of Microsoft Office skills primarily Word/PPT/Excel.

·   Knowledge and user experience of Power BI will be a plus

·   Knowledge of IS/IT will be a plus

·   10-15 years of experience in Operational Risk, non-financial Risks, Internal Audit or related control functions

·   Big 4 experience is preferred.

·   Experience of working in a UK bank is preferred

·   Experience of working in offshore-onshore model
