Responsibilities

Based in Hong Kong, the Head of Business & Managerial Communications for Asia Pacific, working under the supervision of the Head of Communications, is responsible for defining and delivering integrated communications across all Corporate & Investment Banking (CIB) business lines in the region—Global Markets, Global Banking & Advisory (GLBA), and Global Transaction & Payment Services (GTPS).

The role also leads managerial communications for the APAC CEO and senior leadership, ensuring clear, consistent, and impactful messaging both internally and externally. As a member of the APAC Communications Executive Committee (COMM ExCo), the position plays an important role in shaping and executing the regional communications strategy, while driving transversal initiatives across markets and functions.

Missions

Business Line Communications (Global Markets, GLBA, GTPS)]

  • Lead the development and execution of communications initiatives showcasing expertise, market insights, transactions, and client solutions.
  • Design and implement 360° communication plans leveraging media, digital, editorial content, and events.
  • Partner closely with regional business heads, spokespeople, and global communications teams to ensure alignment and consistency of messaging.
  • Support business development by enhancing the visibility and credibility of our franchises in key markets.
  • Support global campaigns and initiatives if and when required

Media Relations & Reputation Management

  • Oversee media relations across Asia Pacific for all CIB business lines, maintaining strong relationships with key journalists and media outlets.
  • Ensure consistent, compliant, and high-quality media engagement, including spokesperson preparation and interview support.
  • Anticipate and manage reputational risks, leading communication responses during sensitive situations or crises.
  • Guide and coordinate regional and local communications teams, as well as external agencies, to ensure excellence in execution.

Managerial Communications

  • Develop high-impact messaging for the APAC CEO and senior executives, including speeches, thought leadership, and key announcements.
  • Lead internal communications for the APAC CEO, including town halls, strategic updates, leadership messages, and employee engagement initiatives.
  • Manage and enhance the digital presence of senior executives, particularly on LinkedIn, ensuring consistency with the Group’s positioning and priorities.

Budget, processes and control

  • Ensure monitoring of the budget
  • Ensure respect and application of normative framework, including processes, permanent supervision and controls on the activity under scope.

Candidate Profile

Experience:

  • Proven experience in executive communications and stakeholder management at senior level
  • Strong track record in integrated communications and media relations

Skills & Competencies:

  • Strategic thinking with the ability to translate business priorities into impactful communication plans
  • Excellent command of English, both spoken and written, with experience drafting for senior executives
  • Crisis communication and reputational risk management expertise
  • Ability to operate in a matrix and multicultural environment
  • Collaborative mindset with the ability to work across functions and geographies

Department Description

The Communication department of Societe Generale Asia-Pacific ensures the definition and implementation of the communication strategy, supporting the Bank’s identity and objectives in the region, including its wholesale banking business roadmap, and in line with the directions given by Societe Generale group’s Communication division.
The department consists of a team split across following locations: Mainland China, Hong Kong SAR,  Japan, and Singapore for SE Asia. Structured around communication leads to support key areas of focus – Corporate identity & commitments / Business strategy & expertise / Data & Innovation / Corporate & Social responsibility – the department also encompasses expertise on the following channels:

Editorial and digital communications, Branding and advertising, Partnerships and citizenship, Media relations,Events
