Responsibilities

Mission: 

SGSS (Société Générale Securities Services) provides a comprehensive range of securities services to institutional investors, asset managers and financial institutions worldwide. Within SGSS Switzerland, the Business Support team supports client servicing, regulatory activities, reporting and business management. The team works closely with internal stakeholders and clients to ensure efficient operations and high quality of service.

The Business Support Intern will support SGSS Switzerland across a broad range of business management, operational, regulatory and reporting activities. The role provides exposure to the day-to-day management of a securities services business while contributing to client lifecycle management, regulatory fund services, reporting and continuous improvement initiatives.

Through this internship, the successful candidate will gain practical exposure to securities services, KYC processes, Swiss regulatory fund activities, business reporting, audit support and stakeholder management within an international banking environment.

Tasks and responsibilities:

KYC management for SGSS clients

  • Support client onboarding, offboarding and KYC processes

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation, systems and client records

  • Assist with periodic KYC reviews and remediation activities

  • Liaise with clients, operational teams and internal stakeholders to ensure timely follow-up

  • Prepare regular status updates and management reporting

Swiss Representative Fund general support work

  • Support regulatory submissions, fund registrations and related documentation

  • Maintain fund records and coordinate with clients and external stakeholders

  • Assist with publication and listing activities

  • Monitor key deadlines and regulatory requirements

  • Review marketing materials for compliance with local regulations

Reporting and statistics management

  • Assist in the preparation of monthly and quarterly business reports, KPIs, KRIs and management statistics

Audit related tasks, where applicable

  • Support internal and external audit activities by collecting information, preparing documentation and tracking action items

Business Management Support:

  • Support the preparation of management presentations, dashboards and business reports

  • Assist with business analyses, market research and ad hoc management requests

  • Contribute to process improvement and digitalisation initiatives

  • Support the documentation and maintenance of internal procedures

Profile required

Studies & experience:

  • Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Finance, Banking, Business Administration, Economics or a related field

  • Commercial apprenticeship with banking exposure may also be considered

  • Previous exposure to banking operations, KYC, compliance or financial services (through internships, apprenticeships or academic projects) is an advantage

Language skills:

  • Fluent English (written and spoken)

  • French, German or Italian would be considered an asset

Technical, operational & Soft skills:

  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and PowerPoint

  • Interest in leveraging digital and AI tools (e.g. Microsoft Copilot) is a plus

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

  • Agility and adaptability

  • Strong team spirit

  • Proactive and can-do attitude

  • Ability to synthesize information and present it clearly

  • Strong communication skills
