Power BI Developer – Cognos Reporting Migration

Role Overview

We are looking for a Power BI Developer to support the migration of existing Cognos reports to modern reporting platforms, primarily Power BI. The role involves working directly with business stakeholders, analyzing existing reporting solutions, and delivering equivalent or enhanced reports based on business requirements. The reporting landscape is currently built on Teradata, with a strategic transition towards Databricks.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze existing Cognos reports and reporting requirements
• Collaborate directly with business stakeholders to gather and clarify reporting needs
• Design and develop reports and dashboards in Power BI
• Replicate existing Cognos reports where no new business requirements are defined
• Create and optimize SQL queries against Teradata data sources
• Support data validation, testing, and user acceptance activities
• Document reporting solutions and provide knowledge transfer
• Contribute to reporting migration and modernization initiatives

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Cognos reporting and report migration projects
• Power Automate knowlege
• Knowledge of Databricks and modern cloud-based data platforms
• Experience with data modeling and reporting best practices
• Banking or financial services experience

Enterprise Experience

• Experience supporting reporting solutions in large organizations
• Ability to manage multiple reporting migration activities in parallel
• Experience working within global and distributed teams
• Familiarity with structured development and release processes

Ideal Candidate Profile

A practical Power BI developer with strong SQL and reporting skills who can independently engage with business stakeholders, understand existing Cognos solutions, and deliver high-quality reporting replacements. The ideal candidate combines reporting development expertise with sufficient data analysis capabilities to work effectively with Teradata-based data sources and support the organization's reporting modernization journey.

• Hands-on experience with Power BI report and dashboard development
• Strong SQL skills and experience working with Teradata
• Experience translating business requirements into reporting solutions
• Ability to analyze and understand existing reporting applications
• Experience working directly with business stakeholders
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Good communication skills in English (C1)
• GIT versioning
