Ensure the legal security of our activities and consult on legal matters for the various business areas

Do you have a talent for language? Has your thirst for legal matters not been quenched since you were in university? Join a branch of several hundred employees. Corporate law, litigation, financial law... you will ensure compliance with the laws that govern all of our activities.

You will be the legal counsel for the business areas, particularly on the subject of mergers and acquisitions, legal risks and a range of fields in law.

Your responsabilities

You will be involved in:

Preventing and settling litigation
Assisting the operational team in their negotiations
Writing proceedings and contracts

In this role, you will be asked to assist all of the Group’s entities in managing their legal risks. In order to do this, you will clarify all legal advice and relevant instructions, and you will help to establish normative and contractual legal documentation.

Hello everyone, I'm Florian, I'm a data protection legal expert within the Société Générale Group. I joined the Group at the end of 2021, first on a fixed-term contract, then on a permanent contract.

As a legal expert, my main role is to support and assist the Group's departments on compliance with regulations on personal data. For example, to install a video surveillance system, the Group will use videos and images, which are personal data. We need to make sure that there are rules for managing and conserving these data, but also to inform, the people being filmed. In a more traditional way, I can be part of negotiating and reviewing contracts with our customers on issues relating to personal data.

I work in a team of five legal experts. We each have our perimeters of activity, but we can count on each other. Everyone can share their expertise and their point of views on the questions we have and that's really important.

A legal expert's key skill is rigor, but I would say that my specialty also requires an inquisitive mind, because data protection is a fast-moving field which means keeping abreast of the latest news, whether they are regulatory, legal or more technical.

Working at Société Générale, I realized that there are a multitude of professions behind the bank, other jobs than the advisor we all know. There are also a wide variety of profiles, with people of all ages, and that's what makes my day-to-day work so rewarding.
