TRAINEE: COO Team Assistant - Risk Management

Responsibilities
RISQ/ASI/COO is the team that provides organizational and transversal support to RISQ/ASI, it serves as the primary liaison between the Risk groups and the various support partners. It coordinates cross-entity matters and manage the department resources, ensuring RISQ operating rules are applied and observed promoting a secure and sustainable platform.
In that duties, the COO assistant trainee will assist COO of RISQ/ASI who is responsible for:
- preparing RISQ/ASI budget and monitoring budget and budget projections, in conjunction with the DFIN and so coordinates resource and logistics management;
- reviewing certain cross-business projects and efficiency related initiative, ensuring that RISQ/ASI (including CROs) needs are considered and serving as primary liaison with the global project teams;
- serving as correspondent for RISQ/ASI, and as such coordinate RISQ/ASI effort to the deployment and the improvement of the Compliance framework;
- managing the communication inside and outside of RISQ/ASI, including the preparation of the quarterly staff meeting, developing common values and a strong risk culture;
- drafting and reviewing RISQ/ASI’s policies not related to Enterprise Risk Management (including Client Service Level Agreement, mission statement, RISQ/ASI operational risk policies …);
- coordinating on various project or risk assessment within RISQ/ASI departments and teams
- serving as correspondent for RISQ/ASI and its partners on environmental, climate and related aspects ensuring guidelines and training are cascaded as relevant
RISQ/ASI/COO also acts as Operation Risk Manager (ORM), and in such respect is responsible for:
- serving as secretary of RISQ/ASI’s ORC (preparing the committee and follow-up the actions);
- coordinating the implementation of the first level controls for RISQ/ASI;
- Coordinate periodic risk assessments including RCSA, Business Continuity Management and Business Impact Analysis exercises.
- monitoring the performance of RISQ/ASI’s operational risk framework (including market, credit risks, operational and transversal risks) and coordinates the oversight;
- monitoring outsources services;
- Monitor operational risk incidents, support root cause analysis and track remediation actions and escalations to management.
- Coordinating follow-up on implementation of self-identified finding or recommendations from Audit Department or Control function within
- RISQ/ASI; Support Data and Digital transformation initiatives, including automation, data quality enhancement, AI adoption and innovation projects.
1st year: Expectation
- Understand RISQ SU and it's activities in Asia region.
Develop skill on Operational risk management and related processes, tools, framework.
2nd year: Expectation
- Deeper knowledge on ORM topics.
- Develop Communication skills with heads of team and other departments.
- Be independent and make sure proper documentation.
Profile required
Profile Requirements:
- Bachelor's or Masters degree in Finance, Risk Management, Business Administration, Economics or related discipline.
- Relevant experience in banking, risk management, COO, operational risk, is preferred.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong Excel and PowerPoint skills; knowledge of data analytics, automation or AI tools is an advantage.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively across teams and locations.
- High attention to detail with a strong control mindset.
- Fluent English, both written and spoken

Department Description
The Risk Division in Asia Pacific (RISQ/ASI) is responsible for identifying, measuring, monitoring, approving and controlling risks pertaining to the Group’s activities in Asia Pacific. RISQ/ASI oversees credit and counterparty, market, liquidity, structural, operational and model risks while compliance and reputational risks are supervised by Compliance.
RISQ/ASI/COO provides organizational and transversal support to RISQ/ASI and serves as the primary liaison between Risk teams and support functions. The team coordinates cross-entity matters, manages departmental resources and governance, and ensures RISQ operating rules are consistently applied to promote a secure, efficient and sustainable risk platform.
