Technical Architect – Job Description

The Technical Architect is responsible for defining the technological strategy of the Information System within their scope, in response to customer needs (business line IT or end users), the Group’s technology choices, and market trends. They also contribute to the definition and evolution of the Enterprise’s architecture framework, covering technical, hosting, and technological dimensions. The Technical Architect contributes to defining the Group’s standard technological service offerings and manages their lifecycle. They ensure that these service offerings can be effectively adopted as solutions by development teams.

Key Activities
Define stable and coherent target architectures, identify redundancies and complexities, and propose transformation and simplification paths aimed at improving architectural efficiency in both execution and operations, in alignment with the Enterprise’s business strategy. A strong focus is expected on reducing IT run costs and promoting solution frugality.
Assess transformation capacity and define realistic and achievable transition paths.
Ensure alignment of the Information System with business objectives and IT roadmaps, guaranteeing cross‑domain consistency of projects and solutions within IT and process urbanization.
Contribute to the evolution and application of technological standards; apply methodologies, internal repositories, and regulatory requirements, while contributing to their continuous improvement across the enterprise.
Produce gap analyses; assess technical and functional impacts of the architecture framework and/or projects across IT departments; identify risks and provide decision‑support elements to stakeholders.
Produce architecture deliverables and prepare architecture reviews; ensure the compliance of proposed solutions with the architecture framework and the Group’s transversal requirements, in collaboration with stakeholders and architecture teams.
Explain and promote the Bank’s architecture and/or transformation strategy within governance bodies and various committees.
Monitor developments in their architectural domain (technical, technological, regulatory, etc.), assess innovation opportunities, evaluate experiments, and integrate relevant solutions into IT trajectories.
Participate in and contribute to governance bodies, ensuring compliance with architectural decisions during the execution of strategic projects, and contribute to the maturity of the enterprise architecture process.
Support projects throughout their lifecycle by defining functional, application, data, and technical architectures, and validating evolution scenarios while considering multiple constraints.
Contribute to the collection of inputs required for the preparation of Transformation Strategic Plans (TSPs).

Technical Skills
Strong mastery of the underlying technologies within their domain and the ability to lead and structure technical discussions on these topics.
Ability to solve complex technical problems and propose innovative, sustainable solutions.
Produce technical architecture deliverables and technical representations as part of assigned studies or in support of Information System transformation initiatives.
Support development teams in craftsmanship practices; contribute to resolving design issues during project execution and investigate complex production incidents.
Knowledge of architecture standards and methodologies.
Proficiency in modeling techniques to clearly and effectively represent target and existing architectures.
Knowledge and practical application of architecture patterns.
Operational knowledge of the functional and technical domains covered.
