We're looking for a motivated and inquisitive Trainee to join our Regulatory & Compliance Oversight team. This is a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a specialist compliance function, working on regulatory governance, compliance risk management, regulatory change and the UK's Senior Managers & Certification Regime (SMCR).
What You'll Be Doing
As a Trainee, you'll gain exposure to a wide range of regulatory and governance activities, including:
- Monitoring and analysing regulatory developments from the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA), Prudential Regulation Authority (PRA) and other industry bodies.
- Supporting projects relating to regulatory change and implementation.
- Assisting with the Senior Managers & Certification Regime (SMCR) and other regulatory governance obligations.
- Helping coordinate governance meetings and committees, including preparing materials and tracking actions.
- Supporting compliance risk assessments, reporting and management information.
- Assisting with the maintenance of policies, procedures and compliance documentation.
- Contributing to training and awareness initiatives across the business.
- Working with a variety of stakeholders across business and support functions.

Essential
- A genuine interest in UK banking regulation, financial services and regulatory governance.
- Curiosity about how regulators oversee financial institutions and hold individuals accountable.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent organisation and attention to detail.
- Ability to analyse information and identify key themes.
- Professional, reliable and proactive approach.
- Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
Desirable
- Degree or equivalent in Law, Business, Economics, Finance, Politics or a related discipline.
- Previous internship, placement or work experience in financial services or a professional environment.
- Awareness of the UK's Senior Managers & Certification Regime (SMCR).
- Understanding of the role of the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) and Prudential Regulation Authority (PRA).
- Interest in regulatory developments, accountability frameworks and banking governance.
