The Trainee role is a full time 24-month contract with Societe Generale where you will have access to a diverse range of training materials to help you succeed, covering various aspects of businesses, including but not limited to technical skills, leadership development, communication skills, client service and relationship management. To be eligible, please ensure you have completed your qualification and will be available to work full time for the duration of Trainee contract.

Are you passionate about visual storytelling, content creation and design? Join our Asia Pacific Communications team and gain hands-on experience supporting regional communications initiatives in a diverse and international environment.

As a Trainee, you'll gain practical experience in corporate communications, employee engagement, events, and multimedia projects while collaborating with colleagues across Asia Pacific. You'll contribute to the development of visual and editorial content across digital channels and support stakeholder engagement initiatives while gaining valuable insight into the financial services industry.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Assist in writing, editing, and preparing content for corporate websites, intranet platforms, newsletters, social media channels, and related communications materials.
  • Support digital publishing activities using content management systems (CMS), publishing tools, and digital platforms to update and maintain content.
  • Create visual content for digital channels and support video production, editing, and basic motion graphics.
  • Coordinate with internal stakeholders and external agencies to support the delivery of communications initiatives and projects.
  • Assist in preparing reports on communications projects and campaign performance.
  • Manage the team's expense tracking, reporting, and administrative tasks.
     

Profile required

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to draft and edit content for different audiences and channels.
  • Proficiency in graphic design, video editing, and content creation tools such as Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, Premiere Pro, or similar applications is an advantage. A portfolio showcasing your work is welcome.
  • Well organized and able to follow established processes, brand guidelines, and internal policies while meeting deadlines.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to work independently and collaborate effectively with stakeholders in multicultural environments.
  • Proactive, creative, flexible, and eager to learn new tools and technologies.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to multitask.

Department Description

The Communication department of Societe Generale in Asia Pacific is responsible for defining and implementing the communication strategy that supports the Bank’s identity, strategy, and objectives across the region. This includes alignment with the wholesale banking business roadmap, primarily within Corporate & Investment Banking (Global Markets, Global Banking & Advisory, Global Transaction Banking), and adherence to the guidelines set by the Group’s Communication division.

The department is composed of teams based in Mainland China, Hong Kong SAR, India, Japan, and Singapore (covering Southeast Asia). It is structured around communication leads who support key focus areas such as Corporate Identity & Commitments, Business Strategy & Expertise, Data & Innovation, and Employer Brand. The department also brings together expertise across all channels of the marketing and communication mix, spanning owned, earned, and paid media.
