Accounting Analyst, APAC (Bernstein-Hong Kong)
Responsibilities
Role Contribution
The Accounting Analyst will support Bernstein Asia, acting as a key contributor to:
End‑to‑end financial production and controls
Regulatory reporting for Asia entities
Financial steering and liquidity monitoring
Ongoing Finance process standardisation and improvement initiatives
Main Responsibilities
Financial accounting & controls
Perform daily accounting activities and monthly financial close in accordance with IFRS and Group accounting policies.
Monitor accounts payable and receivable processes, including reconciliation with intragroup entities, ensuring accuracy and timely settlement.
Support cash management activities, including liquidity monitoring and cash flow forecasting.
Perform account certification and permanent supervision controls to ensure data quality, reliability, and auditability of financial information.
Act as liaison with offshore accounting teams, monitoring deliverables and ensuring service quality.
Contribute to statutory audits by preparing accurate and timely financial information and responding to auditor queries.
Regulatory reporting & watch
Support on regulatory returns with a high degree of accuracy and within regulatory deadlines.
Work with Financial Accountant and CFO to:
interpret regulatory requirements applicable to Bernstein Asia activities and assess their impact on the entities
Monitor regulatory developments and coordinate with Finance management to implement new or amended regulatory requirements.
Support ad-hoc requests, reviews, or inspections from the Asia regulators by providing accurate information in a timely manner.
Financial steering & ALM
Contribute to the preparation of monthly financial and management reporting packages for regional stakeholders.
Work with Financial Accountant and CFO to monitor daily liquid capital ratios, ensuring compliance with internal thresholds and regulatory limits.
Escalate potential breaches or emerging risks in a timely and transparent manner.
Tax
Prepare tax filings and supporting schedules.
Assist in responding to tax-related queries from tax authorities, auditors, or advisors, ensuring consistency and accuracy
Transversal topics
Support in implementing target operating models and standardized Finance processes for JV entities.
Execute permanent supervision controls in a timely manner and document results appropriately.
Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing efficiency, control framework robustness, and quality of Finance deliverables
Profile required
KEY SKILL AREAS & KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED:
Experience in Asia Financial Institute Regulatory reporting rules, ie FRR, MAS SEBI, NSE, etc Sound understanding of research and agency broker-dealer activities.
Knowledge of Asia tax regulations.
Good understanding of IFRS accounting standards.
Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
Excellent communication skills in English (writing and speaking), and Chinese (spoken Cantonese), Mandarin skills a plus.

QUALIFICATIONS:
University degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related discipline.
Professional accounting qualification (e.g. CPA, ACCA or equivalent).
minimum 3 years or more of relevant experience within a Finance function
