Responsibilities

You will be part of a dynamic regional Data Management team based in Hong Kong, working closely with Data Management experts, Compliance, Legal, Risk, and Technology stakeholders across Asia. Your primary focus will be to support the analysis of Artificial Intelligence and Data Governance regulations and frameworks across multiple jurisdictions, while contributing to broader Data Management initiatives.

Contribution to Artificial Intelligence and Data Regulatory Monitoring

  • Monitor and analyze new Artificial Intelligence, Data Governance, Data Protection, and Data Quality regulations issued by regulators across Asia (Australia, China, Hong Kong, India, Japan, Korea, Singapore, and Taiwan).
  • Support the review and comparison of regulatory requirements against Société Générale's existing governance frameworks and standards.
  • Contribute to regulatory gap assessments and the identification of potential impacts on Asia entities.
  • Assist in maintaining a centralized inventory of AI and Data-related regulatory publications, guidelines, and consultation papers.
  • Prepare summaries, presentations, and briefing materials for management and governance committees.
  • Support coordination with local stakeholders to gather information and track remediation or compliance actions.

Contribution to Data Management Initiatives

  •  Assist in the coordination of Data Governance, Data Quality, Data Protection, and AI Governance activities across Asia.
  • Support the preparation of committee materials, dashboards, and management reporting.
  • Contribute to the review and documentation of Data Management processes and controls.
  • Help identify opportunities to improve reporting, monitoring, and governance practices through automation and data analysis.
  • Work with regional teams and Group functions to promote alignment of local initiatives with global frameworks.
  • Support ad-hoc projects and strategic initiatives within the Asia Data Management Office.

Department Description

GBIS is the Global Banking and Investor Solution arm of the Société Générale Group. Present in over 50 countries across Europe, the Americas and Asia, SG GBIS provides corporates, financial institutions, investors, and public sector clients with value-added integrated financial solutions.

GBTO (Global Banking Technology & Operations) is Société Générale's global technology, operations and data-management division. It provides the operational, technological, data-management and digital capabilities supporting the Bank's business activities worldwide. DMO (Data Management Office) is one of the GBTO organizational pillars.

DMO Asia serves as the regional Chief Data Officer function, responsible for driving data governance, data quality, data protection, data access governance, and regulatory compliance across Société Générale Asia entities in alignment with Group policies and local regulatory requirements.

To support the expansion of our activities, we are recruiting an intern based in Hong Kong. The successful candidate will join the GBTO Data Management Office and participate in the analysis of Artificial Intelligence regulatory guidelines and frameworks across Asia jurisdictions (Australia, China, Hong Kong, India, Japan, Korea, Singapore, and Taiwan), while contributing to additional Data Management streams and initiatives.

Profile required

Undergraduate or postgraduate student in Business, Data Management, Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering, Finance, or a related field.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and an interest in data governance, data quality, and regulatory compliance.
  • Good working knowledge of MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word); familiarity with Power BI, VBA is a plus.
  • Ability to analyse data, prepare reports, and support the monitoring of data quality and governance metrics.
  • Interest in Data Governance, Data Quality, Data Protection, AI Governance, or Operational Risk Management.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to collaborate across business, operations, and IT teams.
  • Adaptable and comfortable working in a multicultural and international environment.
  • Quick learner with a proactive attitude and willingness to take ownership of assigned tasks.
  • Self-motivated, organized, and able to manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • Strong teamwork mindset, professionalism, and commitment to delivering high-quality work.
  • Knowledge of banking, financial services, or regulatory requirements is an advantage but not mandatory.
