Hello, I'm Caroline, and I'm an exotic equity derivatives Trader focusing on European stocks. I joined the Group in September 2025 through the Market Activities Graduate Programme. My day-to-day work is to offer investment solutions in the form of structured products to retail or private banking clients. And my role as a trader is to manage and hedge all the risks related to these products. I chose to join Société Générale's trading floor because it's a dynamic environment with lots of interactions and a wide range of people to work with. Société Générale has a strong reputation in equity structured products, so it's a great place to start your career and learn as a junior. One of the biggest strengths of the Graduate is that there are no rotations. From day one, you join a team directly, get involved in projects and day-to-day activities. You learn the ropes very quickly. I had the chance to develop my skills fast, build confidence, thanks to my team who provided me all the support I needed when I arrived. Another major benefit of the Graduate Programme is definitely the connections you build with the other graduates. There were around twenty of us in the 2025 cohort. We have a lot of networking events as well as training sessions, which give us the chance to meet up outside of work and share experiences. We are also lucky to have quite a few events with the top management of the company, which helps us understand the Group's overall strategy and key challenges, something we don't always get to see in our daily work. What I particularly enjoy about this job is the variety. First, a commercial side, as we work closely with sales teams every day to better understand clients' needs. There's also a strong technical aspect, because we sell complex structured products which are based on mathematical models. And of course, there's the day-to-day market monitoring, because our products carry risks and our job is to manage and monitor all these risks. When I joined, I had a lot of questions. I spoke with many different people, regardless of their level of seniority, and everyone was genuinely supportive and always available to answer my questions. And for me, as a junior, that's a real advantage. The advice I'd give to candidates interested in joining the programme is to stay curious and show your motivation. I think it's important not to limit yourself, especially at the beginning of your career, because a trading floor offers countless opportunities. Whether it's trading, sales, or structuring, and across different asset classes like equities or fixed income etc. It's really important to show an open mind. And in fact, the Graduate Programme is a chance to explore the various opportunities available across the trading floor.
