Ihre Aufgaben

Your primary operational responsibilities are:

  • Support the Senior Banker and relationship managers in the origination of transactions on their client base, incl. execution and follow-up of the team’s marketing plan, direct interactions with the business lines and support units internally as well as with clients (notably for “Growth clients”)

  • Participate in the preparation of marketing material and client pitches for structured solutions, together with Global Markets and Global Banking & Advisory business lines (capital structure advisory, capital markets, asset based products…)

  • Support in the day to day execution of mandates

  • Perform financial and business analysis on clients and prospects, including from an ESG perspective; contribute to the preparation of company profiles and of industry/sector analyses; lead the preparation of briefing notes for Senior Management

  • Support the Senior Banker and relationship managers in credit processes: client group annual reviews, periodic and ad-hoc review of internal ratings, assessment of specific transactions, notably from a risk/reward standpoint

  • In cooperation with the Coverage Support team, contribute to the management of client data (notably maintenance and update of internal client referentials) and client revenues, scarce resource and profitability data (review, control, forecast and reporting), KYC and Compliance reviews

Ihr Profil

Experience and technical skills:

  • Excellent Bachelor or Master’s degree in Finance or Business Administration

  • At least 3 years work experience in coverage/sales/origination or in an Investment Banking business line relevant for Financial Institution clients, ideally with a bulge bracket investment bank

  • Strong numerical & analytical skills are essential

  • Basic knowledge of the Financial Institutions sector and the corresponding regulatory framework

  • Excellent command of MS office (particularly Excel & PPT); ideally some valuations & modelling skills

  • Aptitude in accessing information from public sources

  • Fluency in German and English (both written and spoken), any other language (like French) is a plus but not necessary

Ihr Umfeld

Within the Coverage and Investment Banking division of SGCIB, GLBA/FIG is responsible for Financial Institutions clients - banks, insurance companies, stock exchanges and market infrastructure companies, asset & wealth managers sovereigns, supra-national institutions and financially regulated entities. It offers a global advisory approach focused on strategic dialogue with these clients and the whole range of services and tailor-made solutions offered by SG CIB and the Group, with a particular focus on investment banking, commercial banking and global markets activities.

The FIG Associate is part of the GLBA/FIG team based in Germany, which includes a Senior Banker, relationship bankers and junior staff. Members of this team are responsible for covering Financial Institutions from Germany & Austria and for providing local coverage support for Financial Institutions from other countries who have a significant presence in Germany.

As FIG Associate in charge of the German and Austrian market, you will work directly with the Senior Banker and the coverage team as well as product specialists in Frankfurt, London, Paris and / or New York on the origination and execution of Investment Banking mandates (products covered are in particular M&A, debt, hybrid debt & capital, equity & equity linked). You will also support the origination of structured finance, securitisation, corporate banking and global market mandates.

This will include a wide variety of tasks, including but not limited to, company and industry as well as product, accounting and regulatory research, financial statement analysis, financial modelling and valuations, preparation of client presentations, transaction structuring and documentation, etc. both in the context of the origination and execution of transactions.
