Responsibilities
ABOUT THE JOB:
The aim of Global Banking Technology & Operations (GBTO) Canada is to deliver day-to-day services to Société Générale investment and corporate bank units and their clients to accelerate their transformation. GBTO differentiates itself from competitors with the pace of the agile transformation delivered, spreading the technology and data culture, shortening the decision-making process, and adopting a true industrial approach, leveraging on different teams either transversal or aligned to the different sub business units.
The team is called MRF which stands for Market Data Referential. The team of 5 people in target aims to manage the proper collection of market data (coming from External providers), format them, and expose to Societe Generale information system. In Amer region, the team is dedicated to Amer partners mostly located in New York, Chicago and Montreal but can be exposed to worldwide requirements.
What will be your DAY-TO-DAY?
In this role, your responsibilities will include:
- Deliver high-quality clean code and test case scenarios by applying relevant software craftsmanship principles and meet the acceptance criteria
- Deliver changes on all aspects of Software Development Lifecyle (SDLC) in-line with Agile and IT craftsmanship principles
- Take part in team meetings
- Actively work with other Referential teams located in France, Morocco, Hong Kong and Inde, to define and to implement a common framework for for data access, via API or back-end
- Contribute to digitalize and optimize market data platform with automation and innovative ideas
- Contribute to production support effort
Profile required
Skills and Qualifications:
Must Have:
- Strong inclination for programming skills
- Proficiency in JAVA
- Complete understanding of front, middle and back-end programming concepts
- Ability to use designing and automation tools
- Knowledge of CI practices
- Knowledge of datasets in data catalog. Ability to manage and communicate data warehouse plans to internal stakeholders
Competencies:
- Autonomous and Curious
- Rigorous
- Good communication
Nice to Have:
- Knowledge on financial products (Fixed Income, Equities, Corporate Actions, etc)
- Experience with Front or Risk Officers
- Experience in Investment Banking
- Knowledge in VBA macros
Languages: French and English
Ability to communicate in English, both orally and in writing, is a requirement as the person in this position will need to collaborate regularly with colleagues and partners in the United States.
