ABOUT THE JOB:
The ambition of Global Banking Technology & Operations (GBTO) is to deliver Technology and Operations excellence in our day-to-day services to Global Banking and Investor Solutions (GBIS) Business Units and their clients. Our role is to accelerate and support the transformation of GBIS activities to meet evolving client needs and market opportunities.
Within GBTO, our group (GBTO/XRM/CCR: Cross Risk Metrics - Counterparty Credit Risk) provides calculation engines, regulatory reporting tools, and other applications necessary for successful post-trade risk monitoring & reporting.
This New York City based Business Analyst role contributes to the design, enhancement, and delivery of technology solutions supporting the firm’s global Credit Risk functions. This role offers the opportunity to impact strategic risk platforms and participate in the firm’s technology modernization initiatives, while working with partners from Risk, Front Office, and other IT teams.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead end to end business analysis for regional and global Credit Risk initiatives, including requirements elicitation, workflow and process mapping, data discovery, and solution design aligned to strategic objectives.
- Lead requirements and operating level meetings, ensuring discussions are structured and that decisions & actions are documented and shared.
- Conduct data analysis using SQL/Python to support requirements clarification, root cause investigations, solution validation, and continuous improvement efforts.
- Produce high quality functional documentation, including workflow diagrams, user stories.
- Design, implement, and test ETL processes using low-code tools or python.
- Coordinate and execute testing activities across multiple environments (DEV, UAT, PROD), including functional, regression, integration, and user acceptance testing.
- Participate in production deployments by validating changes, conducting smoke tests, and ensuring successful post deployment behavior.
- Participate in a rotating production support model across team members, that entails monitoring and conducting initial investigation of production issues and coordination with technical teams and users.
- Identify opportunities to streamline business processes, enhance system functionality, eliminate recurring issues, and strengthen operational efficiency.
- Engage with architects and other subject matter experts to help design robust solutions.
- Collaborate proactively with global teams (US, France, India) to ensure cohesive delivery, knowledge exchange, and alignment across time zones.
- Contribute to Agile ceremonies and adhere to Agile practices
Profile required
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
Must Have:
- Undergraduate or graduate in a relevant field (Computer Science, Engineering, Finance, etc.)
- Analytical mindset, curiosity, and creative problem solving capabilities.
- Excellent organizational, written, and verbal communication skills.
- Professional experience in a bank or financial services organization, including direct exposure to risk or capital markets systems.
- Experience and familiarity with referential systems and data for Client & Legal Entity, Master Agreements, and Product / Instruments.
- Strong SQL skills, including writing multi table joins and queries for analysis and testing.
- Ability to write clear documents, structured business communications, and user stories.
- Ability to read stored procedures and navigate relational data models.
- Experience integrating data from APIs, databases, flat files, XML, and Parquet sources.
- Experience implementing ETL / ELT processes.
- Python scripting experience for automation, troubleshooting, or data manipulation.
- Comfort working in Unix/Linux environments (command line analysis, script execution).
- Hands on experience with Agile/Scrum methodology.
- Experience using Jira, Confluence, or similar Agile collaboration tools.
- Knowledge of Credit Risk and Counterparty Credit Risk concepts.
Nice to Have:
- Familiarity with Basel III / Basel IV regulatory frameworks.
- Experience with Power BI or comparable BI/reporting tools.
- Awareness of Azure cloud architecture fundamentals
- Ability to support teams through on premise → Azure migration activities (inventorying dependencies, documenting data flows, identifying risks).
- Exposure to cloud analytics technologies such as Azure Synapse or Databricks.
- Familiarity with data lakes, lakehouses, and data warehouse architectures.
Languages: English; French is nice to have
Experience: 5+ years of professional experience with at least 2+ years in banking or financial services

COMPENSATION:
Base salary range does not include overtime pay, bonus and/or other benefits, where applicable. Actual base salary offer will vary based on skills and experience. The role is eligible for an annual discretionary bonus and includes a competitive benefits package including 401(k) plan with company match, medical/dental/vision, and other benefits for fertility, wellness, student loans and commuters.
