Responsibilities

The Prime Services business unit provides global execution, clearing and financing solutions to a wide range of customers across multiple regions and asset classes. The unit is a major growth engine for the Group and a key pillar of Societe Generale’s universal banking model.

Supporting the Prime Services business unit are the Global Banking Technology and Operations (GBTO) teams. These teams provide the operational and IT support services which cover a wide range of activities. These activities include client lifecycle management, global execution services, trade lifecycle, settlement and clearing, reconciliations, collateral management, payments, risk management and fees. The main GBTO teams involved in these processes are Equity and Derivatives Middle Offices, Back Office units such as Settlements and Collateral Management, Finance Risk and Market Data teams, and Client Onboarding and Know Your Client teams. The main processing hubs are in New York, Montreal, London, Paris, Hong-Kong, Bucharest, Bangalore, Chennai, and we have a smaller presence in Chicago.

We are currently recruiting for a Business Analyst to help us with our continued build out of our Prime Brokerage offer.  The role is a senior level position, with the incumbent having visibility to senior GBTO Management and Business Partners. The purpose of the role is to focus on themes of Operability, Scalability and Resilience by:

  • Defining Process: The business analyst will analyze the operational perimeter of the Prime Brokerage offer. What contingencies between the GBTO are in place and are responsibilities clearly defined.
  • Optimizing Process: The business analyst will propose and help to implement changes across the GBTO teams to ensure that the business is resilient. Examples of such proposals include standardization of processes and follow the sun/ pass the book operations.    
  • Governance: The business analyst will establish a regular governance with Operational and Business stakeholders where progress updates, achievements and blockers are presented.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for improving service quality and controlling risk in our Prime Brokerage offer.
  • Responsible for the definition, implementation and follow-up across the operational teams for our Prime Brokerage Product’s Operability, Scalability and Resilience stream.
  • Facilitate the co-ordination between all stakeholders involved in this initiative under the Prime Brokerage Product.
  • Display a good knowledge of the practices and evolutions of the market and industry benchmarks as they relate to Prime Brokerage. This is vital in order to develop optimization solutions that are best in class.   
  • Perform analysis of operational functions across Trade Processing, Financing, Risk Monitoring and Regulatory teams, identifying gaps and dependencies across global teams. 
  • Produce a document per operational group that defines tasks that individual groups are Responsible, Accountable, Consulted and Informed on.
  • Lead the implementation of recommendations that you will find from your analysis with support from operational and business management.

Profile required

  • Understanding of end-to-end operational flow: trade booking through to post trade reconciliation and the systems and organisational groups involved.
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements related to Cash Equity and FI PB in the 3 regions.
  • Knowledge / expertise in the Cash Equity and FI PB products.
  • Project management knowledge covering overall planning, business analysis, testing and deployment.
  • Good working knowledge of the MS Office suite of applications.
  • The ability to assimilate knowledge quickly, an inquiring mind and an eye for detail, a sense of responsibility coupled with a sense of urgency.
  • Good communication skills, leadership qualities, teamwork, initiative, analytical skills & ability to make decisions.
  • Capable of dealing with and influencing internal stakeholders and building strong relationships.

COMPENSATION & SALARY RANGE:

Base salary range does not include overtime pay, bonus and/or other benefits, where applicable. Actual base salary offer will vary based on skills and experience.
