Responsibilities

Fixed Income Forex and Commodities is a division of Global Business Service Unit (GBSU) for Societe Générale. FFC mission is to manage booking, pricing, contribution and front to back activities for Fixed Income, Currencies and commodities products.

Within FFC, the Trading Tool division is in charge of the development and maintenance of Front Office trading applications used on a daily basis by traders for market making.

C# Developer can work on all tasks within his technical environment. It can go from the business need analysis to the production delivery, going through the design of the user-oriented solution, the technical development, tests, and deployment.

You will be part of an extended feature team between France and Poland, where software engineers will share a common backlog of tasks. You can have one or several specialties within a feature team (development, test, deployment, support).

The application use C#, .Net Core, Winforms, WebAPI (N-tier Architecture) technologies, PostGRESQL Database, GRPC, Tibco EMS & TREP middleware.

Tasks and responsibilities:

  • Working in team-oriented environment, developing and supporting features in a functional applicative chain
  • BUILDING, DELIVERING and RUNNING the application
  • Splitting technical & functional tasks into detailed user stories, interacting with the product owner and business analyst
  • Developing software using Craftsmanship best practices (such as Behavior Driven Development, Test Driven Development, continuous integration, legacy refactoring, and continuous delivery)
  • Developing code in complex technical ecosystem with the capacity of understanding and develop on different technical environments
  • Delivering and supporting the application through continuous delivery (DevOps)
  • Writing unit tests, reviewing the code to be delivered and helping the global team on non-regression testing
  • Offering recommendations for process improvement
  • Giving clear and consistent reports to the clients and management
  • Following SG policies and procedures like change management, project governance and software configuration management
  • Providing production support for existing application feature
  • Ensuring the alignment with the guidelines and practices from the chapter
  • In case of specific production work, there might be a need to work overtime at night and during weekends

Profile required

Studies & experience:

  • At least 2-5 years of relevant professional experience
  • Experience in .NET Framework and .NET Core development
  • Experience in Agile, TDD and Continuous Delivery (Jira, Git/Github, Jenkins)
  • Experience in Multi-threading (low latency) and DevExpress is a plus

Language skills:

  • Fluency in English
  • Intermediate in Polish
  • French would be an asset

Technical, operational & Soft skills:

  • Knowledge of Database / SQL (preferably PostGre)
  • Knowledge of Windows servers
  • Good communication skills
  • Ability to work in an international and distributed team environment.
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Functional knowledge on trading application / forex or rate market is a plus
