Chief Representative (Malaysia)
Responsibilities
To act as Representative for Société Générale in Malaysia and be the spokesperson in the country in order to deepen the bank’s understanding of its political and economic situation, its business infrastructure and key stakeholders/players
Contribute to the strategy to enhance Société Générale's standing in the country and to support the development of relations with Malaysian financial institutions and corporates. To identify business opportunities with corporates, financial institutions and government entities for all Société Générale business lines, in alignment with their respective global strategies, and assist them in deepening their relations in Malaysia; acting in accordance to the scope and limitations of the local representative license
To disseminate information on economic, political and news on corporates/institutions with the objective of keeping Société Générale Management and business lines up to date on what is happening in Malaysia. Be the champion of his country for the Société Générale Group (the natural person to go to, including when it comes to risk related matters)
Identify opportunities and ideas to enhance the Société Générale franchise in Malaysia.
Manage the Malaysia Rep Office efficiently while ensuring at all times compliance with local rules and regulations as well as Société Générale internal rules and procedures.
The key responsibilities are therefore:
To represent Société Générale vis-a-vis regulatory bodies, government entities, and the local business community at large, in keeping with the image and brand of Société Générale
To master the bank’s product offering and understand the Business Lines strategies to help leveraging the business potential of Malaysia for the bank
To keep abreast of economic and political developments in Malaysia
Be an effective ambassador of Société Générale’s brand in Malaysia, communicating clearly Societe Generale values, market standards and capabilities. The same internally where we expect the Chief Representative to effectively and proactively spread over information (business, economic, political, risk related, etc…) linked to his county to relevant stakeholders within the bank
To deepen knowledge of key economic and business players, their strategies, organization, development and financial needs, and facilitate access to the most senior personnel (CEO, CFO and Finance Team, etc…), to build insights as necessary for Société Générale
To manage the representative office at all times in compliance with local laws, rules and regulations, as well as internal procedures, with the support of Société Générale Singapore.
