Responsibilities

The communication department is based in Geneva, covering both Swiss locations (Zurich and Geneva, about 170 staff members in total). The main mission of the communication department is to contribute to the implementation of the GBIS 360° communication strategy in the country, including both external and internal channels. The team is covering several business lines and activities, and work with various stakeholders at a local and global level.

Tasks and responsibilities:

  • Support for internal and external communication activities:

  • Participation in the development of communication plans for various projects

  • Support for messages drafting, invitations, speeches, press releases, satisfaction surveys, messages for social networks

  • Logistical coordination for the implementation of internal communication actions

  • Logistical coordination for the implementation of the volunteering program deployed in Switzerland

  • Support for the operational management of internal and external events

  • Calls for tenders, choice of venues, support in drawing up budget estimates, drafting of invitations, drafting of speeches, support in coordinating with various suppliers and general building services, ordering of gifts, management of responses, support on the event website

  • Graphic design and branding: creation of invitations, banners and posters, as well as ensuring compliance with the graphic charter on the various media

  • Sourcing ideas for customer gifts, coordinating suppliers

  • Manage and update intranet and Swiss website

  • Act as back-up on the above topics, as well as on press matters and budget monitoring/invoice management


Key objectives:

  • Contribute to strengthen client's relationships thanks to Event organization

  • Develop Societe Generale footprint locally through various communication channels

  • Ensure internal engagement thanks to internal events and CSR initiatives

Profile required

Studies & experience:

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in communication or marketing

  • At least one significant internship on the communication/Marketing field, ideally in an international environment

  • Experience in the financial sector is a plus


Language skills:

  • Fluent in English and French- written and spoken

  • German would be an advantage but not essential


Technical, operational & Soft skills:

  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite of application, especially word and Powerpoint

  • Knowledge of adobe suite (InDesign and Photoshop mainly)

  • Good written skills

  • Knowledge of a CMS an advantage

  • Good interpersonal skills, ability to manage priorities, team-player

  • Innovation and creative mindset

  • Ready to take on initiative and propose ideas

  • Solution-oriented

  • Flexibility

Internship duration: 18 months
