Responsibilities

Primary objectives:

Report to Head of Compliance and AMLO of the entity.  Primarily be responsible for performing financial crime related day to day operations and missions including but not limited to:

  • Monitor all local regulatory developments relevant to the entity’s activities;
  • Monitor global/regional policy developments relevant to the entity and ensure they match local regulatory standards;
  • Legislation update and dissemination within the entity; assist the relevant departments in implementation;
  • Advise and alert business lines on key financial crime related risks including regulatory risks affecting their business areas, offering practical, timely solutions adapted to the business context to address and mitigate these risks, as well as assisting business lines in implementation of appropriate risk management solutions;
  • coordination with regional Financial Crime Unit with the implementation of tasks within the entity;
  • perform the compliance risk assessment on client risks escalated by KYC team in the entity.
  • Support any tasks assigned by Head of Compliance/AMLO.

Other objectives to develop:

In addition to the primary objectives, the successful candidate can also have the opportunity to develop or consolidate competencies in the general compliance matters other than financial crime related topics such as compliance advisory to trade finance business and support functions, the internal controls on anti-corruption, FATCA/CRS, staff licensing and registration, data protection, etc.

Profile required

  • Experience in AML and Embargoes and Sanctions areas for two years at minimum.
  • AML related certified qualifications such as ACAM, etc.
  • Native Mandarin, business level English.
  • Knowledge of local regulatory requirements in relevant areas especially AML/CTF and E&S related topics.
  • Business or Law bachelor's degree or above preferred.

Department Description

Compliance Department in SG Taipei branch is responsible for the definition and implementation of the compliance risk prevention and control framework, and for coordinating the framework aimed at preventing, identifying, assessing and controlling reputational risks which consist in:

  • financial security: know your client (KYC) processes; the observance of international sanctions and embargo rules, and anti-money laundering and countering the financing of terrorism (AML/CFT) rules, including the declaration of suspicious activities to the relevant authorities where applicable.
  • regulatory risks, which cover in particular: client protection, anti-bribery and corruption, ethics and conduct, compliance with tax transparency regulations (based on knowledge of the customers’ tax profile), compliance with corporate social responsibility regulations and Group commitments, market integrity, compliance with prudential regulations in collaboration with the Risk.
  • Department, joint coordination with HR of the Group’s Culture & Conduct issues; and
  • data protection, including personal data, in particular client data.
