Role Overview
We are seeking a consultant System Engineer with strong expertise in Linux automation, Kickstart, and OS lifecycle management. The ideal candidate will design and implement automation strategies for large-scale deployments, ensure compliance with security standards, and manage Red Hat environments efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
• Automate Linux installation and configuration using Kickstart and related tools.
• Manage full OS lifecycle for Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL 7/8/9); RHEL 10 is a plus.
• Implement and maintain patch management processes across large infrastructures.
• Ensure system security and compliance with CIS Benchmark and OS hardening best practices.
• Administer and optimize Red Hat Satellite, Capsule, and Template Management.
• Collaborate with infrastructure teams on Virtualization (VMware), Storage, and Network.
• Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve complex issues in production environments.
• Follow internal processes (SOPs, ITIL, escalation, time tracking).
Profile required
Experience and Qualifications
• 10+years of experience in Linux/Unix administration and automation.
• Expertise in Kickstart, scripting (Shell, Python, Perl), and configuration management.
• Strong experience with Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) and Red Hat Satellite.
• Good knowledge and hands-on experience in Virtualization (VMware), Storage, and Network.
• Solid understanding of OS hardening and compliance frameworks (CIS Benchmark).
• Proven experience in patch management at scale.
• Excellent problem-solving and debugging skills.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work independently.
Nice to Have
• Familiarity with RHEL 10.
• Experience with clustering and large-scale automation tools (Ansible, Puppet).
Education : Engineering Graduate / MCA / Computer Science Graduate or PG.
