Consultant Technical Lead - MSSQL DBA Admin & Public Cloud Expert
Responsibilities
We are seeking a highly skilled Cloud Developer & Support Engineer to design, develop, and support our cloud-based products and infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have deep technical expertise in AWS and Azure (including VMSS and Azure Managed Instance), automation scripting, serverless computing, and database administration on public cloud platforms.
Key Responsibilities:
- Architect, develop, deploy, and support scalable solutions on AWS and Azure, including Azure Virtual Machine Scale Sets (VMSS) and Azure SQL Managed Instance.
- Develop, test, and maintain AWS Lambda functions using Python and PowerShell for event-driven and serverless architectures.
- Automate cloud resource provisioning, configuration management, and monitoring using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as AWS CloudFormation, Azure Resource Manager (ARM) templates, or Terraform.
- Implement CI/CD pipelines for automated deployment and testing using tools like Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, or AWS CodePipeline.
- Administer, monitor, and optimize MSSQL (Azure SQL Server Database) and AWS RDS PostgreSQL, including backup/restore, high availability, performance tuning, and security management.
- Implement and manage cloud networking concepts such as VPC, subnets, security groups, NSGs, load balancers, and VPN gateways.
- Ensure compliance with security best practices, including IAM roles and policies, encryption, and vulnerability management.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to cloud infrastructure, automation scripts, serverless functions, and databases.
- Collaborate with development, QA, and operations teams to deliver high-quality product features and support.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Hands-on experience with AWS and Azure cloud platforms, including Azure VMSS and Azure Managed Instance.
- Proficiency in PowerShell and Python scripting for automation and orchestration.
- Experience developing, deploying, and managing AWS Lambda functions and event-driven architectures.
- Strong administration skills in MSSQL (Azure SQL Server Database) and AWS RDS PostgreSQL, including experience with database migrations, replication, and disaster recovery.
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as CloudFormation, ARM templates, or Terraform.
- Familiarity with CI/CD tools and practices for cloud deployments.
- Understanding of cloud networking, security, and monitoring concepts (e.g., CloudWatch, Azure Monitor, logging, alerting).
- Excellent problem-solving, troubleshooting, and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- AWS and/or Azure certifications (e.g., AWS Solutions Architect, Azure Administrator).
- Experience with containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes, ECS, AKS).
- Knowledge of DevOps practices and agile methodologies.
- Experience with monitoring and logging tools (e.g., CloudWatch, Azure Monitor, ELK Stack).
Profile required
Years of Experience – 15 to 18 years
Qualification / Certification – Engineering graduate / MCA / Computer Science Graduate or PG. Any relevant RDBMS certification is an added advantage.
Good to have skills / Experience –
- Experience of handling very large environment, min 500+ SQL Instances and TBs of database size
- Supporting PostgreSQL or MongoDB
- Shell scripting and programming knowledge
- Any Cloud Platform Certifications
