Director - Senior Credit Analyst - Private Credit
Responsibilities
Haussmann 1864 Capital Management (“Haussmann 1864”) is an Investment Advisor registered with the SEC. It is part of an SG Group strategic initiative to develop Private Credit investment advisory and asset management services. Haussmann 1864 is composed of a small team based in the US working in an agile, hands-on and dynamic environment. The role of the Senior Credit Analyst is to play a lead role in evaluating investment opportunities for, and support the portfolio management of, Haussmann 1864 mandates. This includes credit risk monitoring and capital management.
The Senior Credit Analyst reports directly to the Haussmann 1864 CEO.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
The responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Assisting with the evaluation of potential candidates for client mandates during the investment screening phase.
- Conducting necessary due diligence on proposed credits for the evaluation thereof by the firm.
- Preparing or analyzing credit reviews (including financial analysis, update of projections, rating assessment, and risk appraisal) in respect of names to be ultimately taken to investment committee (“IC”) and acting as the “sponsor” of such names from a credit analytics perspective for the IC.
- Supporting the firm’s credit portfolio management functions (e.g, assisting with portfolio construction and allocations) covering a variety of sectors including but not limited to Project Finance assets.
- Processing amendments, waivers, and consents for assigned transactions, by preparing credit applications with recommendations and preparing Investment Committee memoranda.
- Actively following and analyzing counterparty risks (covenant compliance follow up, reporting of financial ratios and other key metrics, assessing performance during both the construction and operational phases, etc.)
- Credit monitoring and reporting including credit triggers and early warning indicators, and otherwise assisting the portfolio management team with portfolio risk management.
- Performing watch-list and provision reviews.
- Participating in workout of troubled portfolio credits.
- Preparing reports and responses, in coordination with the Haussmann 1864 CCO and/or CEO, to regulators, Haussmann 1864 Board members, auditors and other stakeholders as requested.
- Preparing and presenting credit analysis, investment memorandums and other reports to the Investment Committee, the Haussmann 1864
- Executive Committee or Hausmann 1864 Board as required.
- Developing, implementing and updating procedures as needed.
- Performing any other duties or responsibilities as may be assigned by the firm’s executive leadership.
Profile required
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience in Project Finance.
- Experience with cash flow modeling, analysis and valuation skills developed in a financial services environment; direct Project Finance modeling skills preferred.
- Experience with loan legal documentation.
- Financial and credit analytical skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook. Experience working within leading credit analytics and portfolio management platforms (such as Sentry PM, WSO, Virtus FIS, etc.) is a plus.
- Interpersonal and communication skills (including clear, concise, analytical writing) must be a team player.
- Problem solving and organizational skills; ability to prioritize and multitask.
- Ability to work in a dynamic, deadline-focused environment.
- Client management skills.
- Ability to work independently as a member of a small team, which includes the ability to be flexible and adaptable in a changing environment.
- Excellent organization, analytical and communication skills.
- Attention to detail.
- Strong work ethic and professionalism, including ability to maintain a high degree of confidentiality.
- 7+ years of in financial services industry, including in loan credit analysis. Experience at a Registered Investment Adviser or similar buy-side firm is a plus.

- Bachelor’s Degree

- Prior portfolio management role

COMPENSATION:
Base salary range does not include overtime pay, bonus and/or other benefits, where applicable. Actual base salary offer will vary based on skills and experience.
