Responsibilities

We are seeking a Finance & Operational Risk Officer to join our Nordic organization, supporting SG and Bernstein across the region. This is a key role within a lean organization of approximately 30 employees, offering broad exposure, strong ownership, and close collaboration with senior management.

The local Finance & Operations team consists of two people: the Nordic COO & CFO and the Finance & Operational Risk Officer. As part of this team, you will play a critical role in supporting the daily running of the business while strengthening financial discipline, operational resilience, and regulatory compliance.

This position sits firmly in Line of Defense 1, with responsibility for Finance, Operational Risk, and Controls. The role directly contributes to reducing risk‑related financial exposure, improving process efficiency, and supporting a strong control environment.

Tasks and responsibilities:

Finance:

  • Manage day‑to‑day Accounts Payable, expenses, and payment processes, including issue resolution

  • Support monthly financial closing, including VAT bookings and fixed‑asset depreciation

  • Perform financial and operational controls to ensure accuracy and compliance

  • Assist with internal and external audits

  • Prepare regulatory reporting to Finansinspektionen and Tax Authorities and other (e.g. SCB)

Operations:

  • Coordinate and oversee operational risk management processes (RCSA, KRIs, incidents, NFAs)

  • Prepare operational risk committees and support crisis management processes

  • Act as Outsourcing Services Correspondent, ensuring proper oversight of outsourced services

Profile required

Studies & experience:

  • A relevant University master’s degree in accounting, Finance, Business Administration or similar

  • 3 years of experience in accounting (preferably in an international bank or audit)

  • Experience working in Big 4/Audit is an advantage

  • Asset management or banking experience is preferred but not required

Language skills:

  • Excellent level of English required

  • Swedish and French languages are considered a plus

Technical, operational & Soft skills:

  • Knowledge of Societe Generale internal procedures and accounting system is an advantage

  • Solid Excel skills

  • Have high standards for the work you deliver and understand the benefits of having controls in place

  • Pay high attention to details and are able look at things from a bigger perspective

  • A developed analytical ability and problem-solving mind-set

  • Service-minded and know the importance of keeping a deadline

  • Have ability to adapt to a fast-paced and multi-cultural environment
