FIX Solution Specialist
Responsibilities
We are seeking a motivated and talented FIX Solution Specialist to join our Global Trading Support team based in New York. This role is critical to ensuring the smooth operation of our trading desk. You work closely with Trading, Vendors, Support and Engineering teams to develop, monitor and troubleshoot solutions. This role will require you to leverage your F.I.X and Trading system support experience to enhance our Global Trading Support team. You will need to identify root causes of production issues using SQL like language and analysis of F.I.X logs.
Responsibilities / expectations for this role:
- Ability to work under pressure and manage conflicting priorities/deadlines.
- Strong analytical, strategic, and facilitation skills.
- Experience with F.I.X client onboarding, regression testing and exchange certifications.
- Maintain accurate records of Client Onboarding.
- Monitor and maintain the production environment, creating metrics and dashboards to oversee platform capacity/load, data quality, and overall system health.
- Participate in cross-functional projects aimed at improving stability, enhancing current features, or developing new workflows.
- Develop and maintain thorough documentation for all support processes, bug and enhancement tracking to ensure knowledge transfer and consistency in service delivery.
- Install, configure, test, deploy, and upgrade software on the Raptor trading platform.
- Coordinate the release of new applications and F.I.X configurations and enhancements with internal//external clients, execution venues or vendors.
- Onboard clients and exchange routes on F.I.X gateways.
- Resolve application / technical problems and provide solutions.
- Manage communication of system and application outages to the end users.
- Capacity planning, Incident and Problem management.
- Collaborate with internal support teams, vendors, and business unit personnel to monitor. the status of ongoing technology issues and expedite resolution.
- On occasion this role requires weekend and holiday work.

Profile required
Basic Qualifications
- Proven Securities and trading industry experience/strong background in technology operations in the financial markets industry.
- Extensive demonstrated experience with F.I.X protocol 5+ years.
- Ability to process multiple client communication streams and make high-quality decisions under pressure.
- Desire and ability to learn new skills and tools, and enthusiastically take on new opportunities and tough challenges.
- Global support availability to troubleshoot production related issues and perform checkouts.
- Available for occasional weekend and holiday work.
- Previous exposure to a high-frequency trading (HFT) environment.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with keen attention to detail.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Self-motivated with the ability to prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Understanding of Equity / Option Trading and Middle/Back Office Operations.
- Experience with Linux/Unix and Windows OS.
- Effective interpersonal skills and relationship-building skills.
- Experience with scripting and automation is a plus.
- Knowledge with virtual servers and management tool.
- Strong Vendor Relationship Management and negotiation experience.
- Experience with Equity and Options Trading Order Management Systems e.g. (Flextrade ColorPalette, Fidessa, Inforeach).
- High-level understanding of Networking concepts (TCP, Firewall, Routing etc.) for troubleshooting connectivity issues.
- Previous project management and organization skills handling complex projects is a plus.
