Front Office Support / Developer - Trainee
Responsibilities
Mission
Based in Japan, you will be the IT point of contact for FIC (Fixed Income and Currencies) Front Office and Middle Office. You will be seating in the dealing room with sales and traders. You will work closely with them on their daily tasks involving electronic markets, risk analysis, pricers and trade booking systems.
Requiring solid technical skills, you'll put them to good use to make the most of our platform. Initiative and team play are strongly encouraged and rewarded. This job requires to get things done. We will rely on your ideas and solutions
Profile required
- The candidate must be fluent in Japanese and English.
The successful candidate will demonstrate the following skills:
- Curiosity, Autonomy, Initiative. There are lots of things to discover, documentation to read, solutions to test, and more generally ground to cover. Société Générale's IT framework is well developed, and requires a lot of time to get fluent with. Being able to work out on your own what needs to be done, and ask for help when stuck, is key.
- Enthusiasm and Communication. You'll interact with many other departments and teams: Front Office, Middle Office, IT Infrastructure, Audit, Security, etc. Each one of them have their enterprise culture and methods. Embracing it is important.
- Willingness to learn Investment Banking business. IT is at the core of the investment banking business. All other departments rely on the IT system for their daily job. Understanding what these jobs are exactly is fundamental.
- Sense of Responsibility. You will work on automatic trading systems. Reliability is a must, and traders will entrust you with it. Problems must be owned and solved.
- Able to work under pressure. You will be seating very close to the trading desk, and as such, you will be part of the action. This is a challenging, but very rewarding, environment.

Department Description
Société Générale Corporate & Investment Banking is a part of Global Banking & Investor Solutions (GBIS). We are looking for a Front Office application support who is determined for learning business products and activities and technical skills. The selected candidate will join our feature team supporting and developing for the Front Offices in the Global FIC space covering both pre-trade and post-trade activities. As a global firm, applications used are supported by various teams spread out globally, the role will be essential to Front Office as the point of contact to help support/navigate to the right team to solve the issues.
