About Global Banking Service Unit
The ambition of Global Banking Service Unit (GBTO) is to deliver Technology and Operations excellence in our day-to-day services to Global Banking and Investor Solutions (GBIS) Business Units and their clients.

We follow market activities, 24h/24h, in real time, from Hong Kong to Montreal. We manage the customer lifecycle and develop solutions to control the Bank's risk and protect our businesses.

To meet evolving client needs and market requirements, as well as anticipating technological advances, our role is to accelerate and support the transformation of GBIS activities. GBTO is at the very heart of this technological and operational challenge.

Role Summary

In this pivotal role within the Transversal Fund Operations Department supporting SGHJ, you will drive operational excellence by collaborating with internal stakeholders - Fund Managers, Product Managers, Compliance, and Finance - and external partners, including Auditors, Distributors, Custodians, and Outsourced Vendors.

You will engage with the entire fund lifecycle, starting from new fund launch setup, daily operations, which include fund valuation, trade processing, subscriptions and redemptions, cash and distribution management, reconciliation, regulatory reporting, and fund audit support. A key responsibility will be managing and instructing our outsourcing providers for fund operations and accounting.

By promoting a strong risk culture, you will help create and implement effective process controls. Staying abreast of market practices and regulatory changes will ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations. You will also oversee the accurate and timely production of regulatory reporting which are created by outsourced vendor, crucial for the success of our asset management operations

Profile required

Minimum qualifications, capabilities and skills 

  • Experience: Relevant years of experience in domestic funds accounting and operations, focusing on daily fund operations, including NAV valuation and publishing
  • Operation Risk Management:  Proficient in incident recovery and proposing short-term /long-term preventive actions 
  • Technical Knowledge: Familiarity with T-STAR and strong understanding of financial instruments, including derivatives, equities, bonds, onshore (offshore funds knowledge is a nice to have)
  • Process Development: Proven experience in launching new funds, and hands-on involvement in Japanese funds operations
  • Process Improvement: Able to review process and challenge when a weak point in risk / control is discovered and move forward on productivity improvement by implementing process kaizen / automation (with / without help from IT).
  • Technical Skills: Proficient in MS Office tools (Excel, Word, Power-point, Outlook)
  • Language Proficiency: Native level fluency in Japanese.
  • Mindset: Positive, open-minded and adaptable with a can-do mindset suited for an innovative environment.
  • Team Player: Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with internal and external stakeholders.

Preferred qualifications, capabilities and skills 

  • New production introduction Experience:  Experience in launching new types of funds and collaborating with the business on innovative structuring
  • Language Proficiency: Business-level proficiency in English
