High-Touch Equities Sales Trader, Director (Japan-Focus, Bernstein)


Responsibilities
We are hiring for an experienced Japan Cash Equities Sales Trader with deep, long-standing institutional relationships covering Japanese equities on an agency basis. The focus will largely be on generating significant incremental revenue from Bernstein’s global franchise and not purely relationship maintenance. As a Japan market specialist, the candidate should be able to generate Japanese sales-trading content that the rest of the Asia regional sales-trading team can leverage. The trader will work closely with the Japan/Asia sales team and Bernstein’s growing Japan research franchise.
Profile required
Competencies and working experience:
Experience - Experience in similar role covering Japan focused LO / hedge funds
Revenue Growth – Ability to grow multi-million dollar accounts and open new accounts
Execution - Should be familiar with algos and be able to execute own orders
Product – Generate pre-market sales-trading content comprising of the main stocks in play for the day
Blocks - Should have a proven track record of putting together high notional/ADV blocks
Market knowledge – Japan equities specialist tracking stocks, economic data and corporate actions
Market microstructure – Familiar with the intricacies and mechanics of the Japanese markets
Research – Distill Bernstein’s long-form research into easily digestible sales-trading content
Cross sell – Should be able to cross-sell into ET/PT and the broader Société Générale product offering

Profile Requirements:
Holds a Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics or related field; MBA/CFA added advantage
Systems knowledge – Bloomberg, TMS/Info reach (or equivalent OMS/EMS), Proficiency in algos.
Language – Excellent command of spoken and written English, Japanese language skills are preferable but not a must
