About the team:
Our Infrastructure Finance business with teams based in Paris, London, Madrid, Milan, Hong Kong, Sydney and New York, is responsible for advisory services and financing solutions across a range of infrastructure sectors including transportation (roads, railways, ports and airports), networks (utilities, fibre, district heating), water, waste, energy transition, energy services, core plus / value add infra, social infrastructure and PPPs.
Working closely with colleagues across other business / product lines such as DCM, Coverage, ESG etc. we aim to provide wide ranging solutions for our clients tailored to their individual needs.
With a well-established client base already we are seeing increased deal-flow from our top clients but remain ambitious about further developing our proposition and growing further.
Summary of Key Purposes of the Role:
- Deliver successful transaction outcomes by assisting with transaction management and delivery
- Build and manage client relationships with target Infrastructure Finance clients and borrowers in the EMEA region
- Identify and address clients’ needs in terms of raising and managing capital
- Represent the Business Line in internal dialogues with colleagues to provide best-in-class advisory and arranging services to the client base
Responsibilities:
- To contribute to effectively covering clients to address their Infrastructure Finance needs in loan and bond markets

- Clients: Infrastructure funds, managers, developers, operators and owners active in the EMEA Region
- Products: Syndicated loans, private placements and related derivatives
- Sector: Broad range of infrastructure sectors including transportation (roads, railways, ports and airports), networks (utilities, fibre, district heating), water, energy transition, energy services, core plus / value add infra, social infrastructure and PPPs.
- To assist in winning mandates by addressing clients’ borrowing needs

- Maintain a good knowledge of developments in the Infrastructure sector as well as current transactions
- Identifying potential opportunities in the market
- To contribute to the effective and responsible execution of Infrastructure Finance mandates

- Undertaking research on relevant projects
- Day to day transaction support to Director/VP in the Infrastructure team with responsibility for specific aspects of transactions
- Financial modelling and analysis for advisory mandates
- Interrogation of the financial model for lead arranger mandates including sensitivities and checking model integrity
- Support the preparation of credit applications
- Assist with transaction due diligence, documentation and presentations
- Assist with credit ratings
- Analysis of the profitability of transactions
- Permanent supervision of files for regulatory and compliance purposes
- To support the development of the client base in line with SG’s strategy and priorities

- Start to establish a network of contacts at key clients and prospective clients
- Coverage support as part of a team assigned for marketing and origination of new business
- To represent the Business Line in internal dialogues with colleagues to provide best-in-class advisory and arranging services to the client base

- Support on-boarding process with KYC, Compliance and Environmental teams
- Support credit approval process with RISQ, DCS, CPM and Management
- Support other business lines in cross selling activities (specifically derivatives, capital markets, ratings advisory, project bonds and client coverage teams)
Profile required
PROFILE REQUIRED
Knowledge and expertise of Credit within Investment Banking
Understanding of the loan and bond markets, their dynamics and the related instruments, including credit and rates derivatives to propose relevant financing solutions
Strong numeracy skills with understanding of accounting concepts and ability to analyse financial statements, cashflows as well as create and amend financial models
Proven analytical, computer and presentation skills – strong written and verbal communicator and able to put interesting and meaningful marketing materials together with minimal assistance
Strong communicator (verbal and written) with ability to explain complex financial issues clearly and influence at all levels
Able to work under pressure and to tight deadlines, ensuring attention to detail at all times
Track record in taking ownership and responsibility for your areas of responsibility with ability to anticipate client, or senior team member, requests
