Responsibilities

About the team:

Our Infrastructure Finance business with teams based in Paris, London, Madrid, Milan, Hong Kong, Sydney and New York, is responsible for advisory services and financing solutions across a range of infrastructure sectors including transportation (roads, railways, ports and airports), networks (utilities, fibre, district heating), water, waste, energy transition, energy services, core plus / value add infra, social infrastructure and PPPs.

Working closely with colleagues across other business / product lines such as DCM, Coverage, ESG etc. we aim to provide wide ranging solutions for our clients tailored to their individual needs.

With a well-established client base already we are seeing increased deal-flow from our top clients but remain ambitious about further developing our proposition and growing further.

Summary of Key Purposes of the Role:

We operate a flat hierarchy within the team and are looking to appoint a VP who can take a leading role on the execution of deals while developing their personal contact networks and origination skills, this will involve working closely with the whole team in London as well as international colleagues;

A.      Deliver successful transaction outcomes by leading or assisting with transaction management and delivery

B.      Build and manage client relationships with target Infrastructure Finance clients and borrowers in the EMEA region

C.      Identify and address clients’ needs in terms of raising and managing capital

D.      Represent the Business Line in internal dialogues with colleagues to provide best-in-class advisory and arranging services to the client base

 

Responsibilities:

1.       To effectively cover clients to address their Infrastructure Finance needs in loan and bond markets

  • Clients: Infrastructure funds, managers, developers, operators and owners active in the EMEA Region
  • Products: Syndicated loans, private placements and related derivatives
  • Sector: Broad range of infrastructure sectors including transportation (roads, railways, ports and airports), networks (utilities, fibre, district heating),  water, energy transition, energy services, core plus / value add infra, social infrastructure and PPPs.

 

2.       To assist in winning mandates by addressing clients’ borrowing needs

  • Maintain a good knowledge of developments in the Infrastructure sector as well as current transactions
  • Identifying potential opportunities in the market
  • Preparation and presentation of pitches to target clients

 

3.       To support the effective and responsible execution of mandates

  • Identify, originate and execute new business opportunities (incl. general marketing and preparing pitchbooks)
  • Develop and maintain good relationships with clients, target clients, internal partners and other key market participants
  • Lead execution teams on smaller advisory and arranging mandates and support senior staff on execution of larger transactions (specifically with financing proposals / options, credit analysis, credit ratings, info memos, term sheets, due diligence, modelling, presentations, research, credit applications, credit approvals and long form documentation)
  • Ongoing support of the transaction post financial close
  • Permanent supervision of files for regulatory and compliance purposes

 

4.       To support the development of advisory and product offering in line with the Business Line strategy and priorities

  • Develop internal relationships across other business / product lines to enhance cross-selling opportunities (working both ways)

 

5.       To support the development of the client base in line with SG’s strategy and priorities

  • Establish a network of contacts at key clients and prospective clients and other market participants
  • Maintain and build relationships with clients and target clients
  • Coverage support as part of a team assigned for marketing and origination of new business

 

6.       To represent the Business Line in internal dialogues with colleagues to provide best-in-class advisory and arranging services to the client base

  • Support on-boarding process with Compliance and Environmental teams
  • Support credit approval process with Risk, Syndicate and Senior Management

Profile required

PROFILE REQUIRED

1.       Experience in providing credit solutions within the Infrastructure sector – with track record of having worked on completed transactions

2.       Understanding of the loan and bond markets, their dynamics and the related instruments, including credit and rates derivatives to propose relevant financing solutions

3.       Strong numeracy skills, intimate understanding of accounting concepts, financial statements and cashflows

4.       Strong financial modelling skills

5.       Robust risk management skills

6.       Good communication, presentation and interpersonal skills

7.       Capacity to generate pitch material that is clear, structured, compelling, and comprehensive in addressing clients’ needs

8.       Pro-activity with regards to areas of the transaction for which you are responsible – anticipating clients’ or more senior transactors’ requests

9.       Strong negotiation skills

10.   Highly client focussed with ability to build and maintain strong relationships based on trust, expertise and focus on finding the best possible solutions for their specific needs

11.   Ability to contribute to the development of new client base and enhanced product offerings

12.   Demonstrable background in operating to the highest standards of conduct and behaviour to meet with Compliance and Business policies / procedures
