Responsibilities
GLFI/CMK/DCM is responsible for addressing borrowers’ needs in terms of raising and managing capital in the debt capital markets.
The client base for DCM includes corporate borrowers, financial institutions, public sector and sovereigns, as well as non-investment grade (high yield) issuers globally.
In terms of debt origination, DCM’s activity covers issuance of bonds of various kinds, including hybrid capital and liability management advisory. DCM’s activity also covers transaction management advisory.
Build and manage DCM client relationships with Corporate target issuers in Germany, Austria and Switzerland
Identify and address clients’ needs in terms of raising and managing capital in the debt capital markets
Represent DCM in internal dialogues with colleagues to provide best-in-class advisory to the client base. The Intern will be required to ensure that each originator is fully supported in their day-to-day origination activities to advise their clients.
The Trainee provides support on the analytical as well as marketing side and demonstrates a high-level of organisational skills.
To support the team’s client coverage to address the corporates’ borrowing needs in debt capital markets: Regional focus to include the following geographies: Germany, Austria & Switzerland.
To support the team’s effort in developing and maintaining a track record of winning bond mandates in addressing clients’ borrowing needs: Responsible for the profitable and visible development of the DCM/COR business in GAS as measured by League Table positioning and financial targets as defined in objectives from year to year
To contribute to the effective and responsible execution of bond mandates: Particular attention shall be given to risk and compliance requirements, with a high degree of risk supervision on deals preparation and execution
To contribute to the development of advisory and product offering in line with DCM’s strategy and priorities: Under the supervision of the manager, to engage with internal and external areas of expertise in order to develop clear and client specific solutions to meet client needs.
To contribute to the development of the DCM client base in line with GLBA’s and SG Group’s strategy and priorities: Support the development of the business by engagement and alignment with other departments in assessing new client and product opportunities that arise from time to time
To assist DCM in its internal dialogues with colleagues to provide best-in-class advisory to the client base : This involves close cooperation, but not limited to, SYN, AFG, ENV, CORI, IFD and Industry Groups
Profile required
Studies & experience:
Prior experience in a Fixed Income (DCM, SYN, Sales, Research, Portfolio Management, Middle Office etc.) role desirable but not mandatory
Strong financial background and knowledge of the international bond market, for example a Master’s degree in Banking, Finance, Economics or similar
Language skills:
Communication skills – including native language skills in German
Technical, operational & Soft skills:
Ability to gather an understanding of the bond markets, its dynamics and the related instruments, including credit and rates derivatives to propose relevant capital markets solutions
Capacity to generate consistent pitch material that is clear, structured, compelling, and comprehensive in addressing clients’ needs
Responsibility – ability to understand risks (conduct, reputational, financial, etc.) for DCM, GLBA, and SG Group, and ability to act responsibly in line with SG Group Values, Code of Conduct, and other applicable rules & regulations
Client orientation – ability to contribute to the team’s efforts to build and maintain trusted client relationships
