Responsibilities

  • Assist in all aspects of the credit process including credit applications
  • Assist in all aspects of the marketing process including market research and putting together pitch books
  • Ensure that all credit and marketing material is completed in a timely manner and to the expected standard
  • Keep up to date with developments in the natural resources, electromobility sectors and energy transition sectors
  • Work jointly with other Business Lines as the case may be
  • Assist in reporting tools

Profile required

  • Currently studying towards a Bachelors or Masters degree in Accounting, Finance, Legal, Engineering or similar
  • Good knowledge of accounting and finance and/or legal, e.g. proof of some professional exams or selective subjects in accounting and finance and/or legal during university study would be an advantag
  • Basic knowledge of credit and risk assessment, cross border loan or/and project finance is preferred but not a must
  • Good presentation and communication skills
  • Demonstrate the capacity to work in a team environment, on collective success
  • Demonstrate willingness to learn and deliver assigned task under tight deadline
  • Display responsibility and act ethically
  • Display interests in the natural resources, electromobility sectors and energy transition sectors
  • Fluency in English and Mandarin is mandatory, other Asian language such as Japanese or Korean would be a plus

This is a 2-3 months internship with Societe Generale in Hong Kong whereby you will work within one business line for the period. Department Description:

The GLBA/NAT mission statement is to develop a worldwide business franchise in the Natural Resources, Energy and Infrastructure sector by providing clients with financing solutions as well as providing advisory services.

The Natural Resources & Infrastructure Financing Group provides a full range of finance and advisory services for producers, traders, processors and end-users of energy, metals and soft commodities as well as public sector through four key platforms: (1) Mining, Metals and Industries, (2) Energy+ Group, (3) Trade & Sustainable Commodity, and (4) Infrastructure finance.

The NAT business line in Asia-Pacific is responsible for the origination and execution of structured and project finance debt for clients and large projects across asset classes in Asia-Pacific including renewables, energy transition new technologies as well as Metals & Mining and Infrastructure sectors (energy transition related, general and digital). The clients include owners, developers and investors in these asset classes. Other key clients include financial, institutional and pension funds who invest into these sectors.

A successful candidate would be working as part of both Mining, Metals and Industries (MMI) and Energy+ Group (NRG) Hong Kong teams.

The MMI team provides structured corporate finance & project finance funding, and advisory solutions to miners, metals producers, and players in downstream industries including batteries of electric vehicles and semiconductors.

The NRG team is in charge of project financing and advisory services for energy sector including O&G and power as well as renewable energy sector players.

As an intern in the MMI & Energy+ teams, the candidate’s primary mission will be to support both teams.
