Société Générale Corporate & Investment Banking in Brussels (SG CIB) is a provider of innovative solutions, advisory and capital market products, serving the needs of corporations and institutions through: Investment Banking, Global Finance and Global Markets.

Mission: 

As part of the Coverage team, you will be supporting the daily client coverage through various solutions, including Investment Banking, Global Finance, Global Markets, Trade Finance and Cash Management solutions. The trainee in Coverage Support at SG CIB will be responsible for managing loan transactions, providing analytical and reporting support, supervising loan implementation, controlling revenues and profitability, maintaining client databases, supporting Relationship Managers, conducting market research and assisting with new business initiatives.

Tasks and responsibilities:

  • Provide Relationship Managers with client analysis and market intelligence (client strategy geographical presence, market and industry positioning, , latest financial reports and press reviews)
  • Management of loan transactions
  • Work closely with the RMs and internal Business Lines worldwide from origination (preparation of pitch, relationship memos, RFP responses) to execution
  • Reporting and monitoring of revenue (NBI –Net Banking Income) and profitability made by the bank with the portfolio clients, including periodic review and correction of internal reporting data, and ad hoc profitability analysis
  • Collaborate with the credit team to manage and understand the credit risk associated with the portfolio & new prospects, and ensure the credit quality of the portfolios
  • Work on various type of deals (including loan transactions)

Profile required

Studies & experience:

  • Graduate or student at a business school or university, preferably with a major in Financing and/or International Business (an internship agreement is required)

Language skills:

  • Fluency in English
  • Dutch and French would be a plus
