Investment Banking Associate – Commercial Real Estate Loan Syndication
Responsibilities
- Successfully effectuate sell-down syndications of commercial real estate term loans via assignment to targeted lender participants
- Collaborate with originators and underwriters to provide market guidance on participant lender appetite, market pricing thresholds, and loan structure to maximize liquidity and profitability of sell-down positions.
- Work with balance sheet and CMBS deal teams to prepare documents, such as underwriting memorandums, loan marketing materials, and other necessary documentation for syndication efforts.
- Monitor feedback from potential lender participants, respond to investor questions in a clear and concise manner, and provide necessary diligence materials to assist in the participant lender underwriting efforts.
- Maintain and expand relationship database of bank and non-bank lenders to better understand each respective lender's asset and risk appetite, pricing hurdles, and required loan structuring.
- Manage all data files including syndication deal pipeline, market deal tracker, and investor data base.
- Perform on site property inspections including the gathering of comparable property and market data to analyze the long-term viability and liquidity of a particular asset for future syndications to participate lenders.
- Attend client engagements, industry events, and conferences as a representative of the bank.
- The candidate must know and comply with all regulations, rules, procedures, internal and external applicable in the context of its function and follow the compulsory training.

DIVISION DESCRIPTION:
DCS/DIS helps clients by creating innovative, tailor-made commercial real estate financing and distribution strategies providing the best possible execution for our clients. Through an integrated platform combining origination, structuring and syndication, optimized solutions are tailored to match the specific needs of each respective client.
DCS/DIS sets pricing, structuring, and distribution strategy for all commercial real estate term loans originated in the United States. ABP/DIS is responsible for (i) pitching, in tandem with the origination team, commercial real estate term loan financings for key clients of the bank with the goal of winning the mandate and arranging the financing on either an underwritten or best efforts basis, (ii) provide guidance on market terms (pricing, tenor, structure, etc), (iii) provide market liquidity analysis on mandates, (iv) securing internal approvals, and (iii) managing all phases of loan syndication and the distribution process.

Strong communication, presentation, writing, and research skills
Self-motivated, excellent problem-solving skills and detail-oriented
Ability to excel in a fast-paced, pressure-oriented environment and deliver under tight deadlines
Years of Experience: 2-5
Education: Undergraduate degree
Language(s) English
Nice to Have:
- Credit-oriented mindset with an understanding of various commercial real estate property types and their respective risk profiles
- Capacity to analyze and interpret complex commercial real estate financial structures, legal documentation, and financial statements
- Applicable knowledge of Microsoft Office with an emphasis on Excel
- Working knowledge of commercial real estate bank underwriting guidelines and regulatory framework
- Finance degrees, with concentration in real estate preferred

COMPENSATION:
Base salary range does not include overtime pay, bonus and/or other benefits, where applicable. Actual base salary offer will vary based on skills and experience.
