Responsibilities

The Healthcare Investment Banking team is responsible for the origination and execution of all investment banking transactions by Societe Generale Americas. The emphasis will be the broader Healthcare sector within Investment Banking inclusive of Medical Technology, Tools & Diagnostics, Pharma Services, Biopharma, and Healthcare Services. The group is fully integrated into the broader bank and will work closely with our product group and on a cross-border basis with groups in Europe and Asia.

  • Point person on the team responsible for developing and participating in client presentations to advise on investment banking transactions (primarily cross-border M&A and IPO transactions, although Leveraged Finance / Sponsors will also be an important part of the business)
  • Develop client relationships in specific healthcare industry verticals (i.e. Medical Technology, Tools & Diagnostics, Pharma Services, Biopharma, etc.)
  • Evaluate strategic alternatives and make recommendations, internally and to clients
  • Work closely with product partners to organize our content, keep abreast of market developments, capital markets activity, M&A announcements, and investor sentiment
  • Prepare and review complex financial models, including valuation and merger consequences analysis
  • Provide deal execution support through quantitative and qualitative analyses and synthesis of data and information in the Healthcare sector
  • Manage due diligence processes by running the execution of client mandates and managing counterparties, co-advisors, and client team members
  • Work in close partnership with Managing Directors to manage client relationships and deliverables
  • Must be comfortable in a small team environment
  • Train, develop, and participate in recruiting junior Analysts
  • Establish effective working relationships and build credibility with internal constituents
     

Profile required

Competencies:

  • Exceptional oral and written presentation skills and ready to interact with clients immediately
  • High attention to detail and ability to deliver the highest quality content in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment with competing deadlines and demanding clients
  • Ability to self-motivate and tackle projects unprompted with minimal guidance
  • Ability to manage both down and up
  • Demonstrates composure and emotional maturity to work directly with senior Managing Directors and lead client discussions


    Experience Needed:

  • 3+ years of on-site prior relevant financial services experience for candidates without a graduate degree
  • At least one year of post-graduate financial services experience for candidates with an MBA or JD
  • M&A experience (completed transactions, fairness opinion analyses prepared, and meaningful projects) is highly valued
  • One of the following: 1) Completion of the Analyst or Associate training program at an investment bank, 2) completion of at least the CFA Level I examination, 3) CPA designation


    Technical Skills:

  • Proficient in financial analysis such as DCF, LBO, comparable companies, precedent transactions
  • Expertise in all necessary software programs (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
  • Experience in working with Bloomberg data, CapIQ, FactSet


    Educational Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher level from a competitive program
  • Preference for an MBA or JD degree from a top tier program
  • Series 79, 63 and SIE already obtained, or to be obtained, within 5 months of hire

COMPENSATION:
Base salary range does not include overtime pay, bonus and/or other benefits, where applicable. Actual base salary offer will vary based on skills and experience. The role is eligible for an annual discretionary bonus and includes a competitive benefits package including 401(k) plan with company match, medical/dental/vision, and other benefits for fertility, wellness, student loans and commuters.
