GBTO is the corporate and investment banking branch of Société Générale Group. The information technology departments of GBIS provide in house software solutions and vendor systems integration to support operational process and secure business growth. IT is one of the core priorities of GBIS representing roughly 1/3 of the its global staff: around 4,000 people spread across Europe, Asia and North America.
Bucharest hub was created in 2015 as a near shore solution for main European hubs Paris & London. It covers mainly pre-trade software for Equities & Equity Derivatives business line. We are currently around 200 people.
Within this setup we are searching for a confirmed operational manager to take the lead of our Equity derivatives sales tools Java development setup (around 30 people). He/she will report to the local head of GBIS IT in Bucharest and be part of the global Sales tools executive committee.
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Business Analysts Team Manager to co-lead our global team of business analysts within the Investment Banking IT department dedicated to Equity Derivatives Sales tools. This role requires a deep understanding of both investment banking processes and IT systems, as well as strong leadership and communication skills. The successful candidate will oversee the functional design, follow up the implementation and production transition of our IT solutions in close collaboration with our business partners and IT development & support teams.
Specifically, you will be required to:
The IT Manager is responsible for:
• Leading and supervising the activity of the team – most of the staff are in Bucharest + a few in Paris.
• Acts as main interface and coordinate with global IT management and business partners to define the priorities of his perimeter.
• Managing resource allocation according to budgets, staff plans, delivery plans and production support according to GBTO & business priorities.
• Monitoring implementation of the different developments prioritized, facilitate testing and deployment of releases into production.
• People management of local Bucharest teams (~30 people) + functional management of developers from Paris & Hong Kong.
• Providing support to technical leaders of the perimeter regarding developments follow up and growth of their skills and competences.
• Reporting and alerting management if risk situations occur.
• Managing delivery groups transitions and onboarding developers on new activities other than their existing expertise understanding the client requirements, proposing improvements to management, adapting the capacity according to the budget & priorities.
• Preparing IT reporting, KPIs, dashboards for stakeholders/partners and main sponsors, risk analysis.
• Collaborating efficiently with all transverse departments within the company (HR, Architecture, Infrastructure, Security) for optimizing working processes and fulfilling the objectives of the department.
• Is in charge of team management, evaluation, meetings animations, communication to his team.
• Plans and follows the recruitment resources, to grow the actual teams, based on business needs.
• Assists with the development of employee career/training plans and works closely with the team members to identify ways to motivate them to perform at their highest level by serving as a role model.
• Build and maintain collaborative relationships within the team and with other managers in order to exchange experience and best practices.
• Supervises the correct analysis and execution of obsolescence / security / resiliency requests as part of the global GBTO IT Risk framework
• Ensure technical consistency at the level of the department between cross-sectional projects.
• Foster convergence of the various technical frameworks used within the perimeter and push for homogenization of development / deployment practices.
• Endorse the management regarding the risks that may occur within or after finalizing the developments.

University diploma
Min 10 years’ experience in IT with min 5 years’ experience in management roles – must have
Very good understanding of software development lifecycle
Responsible attitude and ambition in achieving the mission
Ability to adapt and quickly adjust to change
Ability to work in fast paced environment
Investment banking notions, especially on Equity Derivatives – good plus
Reactivity, anticipation of needs and management of people and transversal teams skills;
A good combination of rigor, creativity and communication skills;
Good command of English, both written and spoken with the ability to participate in English-only meetings.
French will be a plus
