Description of Business Line
With recognised advisory and financing expertise and strong franchises, Société Générale Corporate & Investment Banking offers tailor‑made solutions to corporates, financial institutions and the public sector.
Our services cover M&A, debt, equity and capital structure advisory. They are combined with high-quality debt and equity capital raising, optimised financing, and risk management specialising in foreign exchange and rates derivatives notably.
Due to increased demand, we are looking for an additional team member who can assist on both the origination and execution of Leveraged Finance transactions (including leveraged loans and high yield).
Our clients are financial sponsors and non-investment grade corporates across the UK, The Netherlands, Germany, and Scandinavia.

Our lending and underwriting strategy is a mix of both originate and hold as well as to distribute.
Key Purposes of Role
- Build and manage client relationships with non-investment-grade borrowers and private equity firms
- Identify and address client needs managing their capital structures
- Represent the Leveraged Finance team in internal dialogues with colleagues to provide best-in-class advisory to the client base
- Conduct deep dive company and deal analysis including full due diligence across full transaction ensuring it meets risk parameters
- Understand market appetite for deals to be able to distribute if required
Key Responsibilities
- Effectively originate Leveraged Finance mandates
- Specific focus on UK, The Netherlands, Germany and Scandinavia for leveraged loans and high-yield bonds across all relevant currencies
- Develop and maintain a track record of winning mandates, addressing clients’ borrowing needs
- Contribute to the effective and responsible execution of mandates
- Contribute to the development of the product offering, developing innovative and creative solutions based on improving customer service and product portfolio
- Develop an internal network across product disciplines with a view to deepening relationships across business lines and realising product synergies.
- Developing client relationships at the appropriate level to ensure close client relationships throughout the hierarchy
Profile required
Experience / Competencies Required
- Deep understanding of Capital Markets and Leveraged Finance, the dynamics and the related instruments, including credit and rates derivatives to propose relevant financing solutions and advisory.
- Track record in developing pitch material that is clear, structured, compelling and comprehensive in addressing clients’ needs.
- 5-7 years of experience, preferably in leveraged finance, debt advisory or corporate finance
- Capacity to manage and understand risks (conduct, reputational, financial etc.) and to act responsibly with all applicable rules / regulations and SG group values / code of conduct.
- Proven ability to build and develop client relationships based on trust and market acumen
- Demonstrated ability to understand client needs and develop innovative solutions
- Strong communication skills – written and verbal. Additional language skills are a bonus but not essential
