Responsibilities

 

Core Mission

The Cross-Asset Collateral & Risk operations Department (CCR), part of GBIS Operation department, oversees:

- The Collateral management on OTC products, Repo & Sec lending and CCP cleared products (OTC and listed products) for both Principal & Agency business,
- Reconciliation process facing OTC counterparts and cleared trade done by MARK/Principal,
- Global monitoring of counterparty/country risk for OPER entity,
- Project management and more specifically Collateral transformation program and regulatory projects.

This is a worldwide perimeter with teams located in Europe (Paris & London), in USA (Jersey City & Chicago) and Asia (Bangalore, Chennai & Hong Kong).

Within CCR, the teams located in India oversee performing all activities off-shored from other Regions, for both Principal and Agency business.

Responsibilities

The Margins, Port Recs & Dispute management teams within GSC CCR oversee the daily reconciliation of OTC collateralized trades (under ISDA/CSA), and must ensure the fast and accurate correction of identified discrepancies, relying on appropriate teams: TSU, Back-offices, MACC (in charge of valuation), external clients.

Reconciliation & Dispute management responsibilities:

1.       Analyze and then validate or correct, as appropriate, the automated trades matching performed within the Reconciliation tool used by SG and the Industry (TriOptima),

2.       Perform the portfolio reconciliation (using TriOptima, E-Rec or manually) and analyze, categorize and explain the transaction discrepancies between SG and the Counterparty, investigating and identifying the root-cause with the help of appropriate business partners (TSU, MACC, CCR on-shore). The identified root-cause need to be investigated and tackled in a sustainable manner.

3.       Analyze the discrepancies in terms of products scope between SG and the Counterparty’s portfolio, and ensure the resolution with the help of appropriate teams (CCR, Legal, ITEC, etc.)

4.       Actively participate to the improvement of our processes, ensuring compliance with our internal procedure and Regulators. Maintain the SOP up to date.

5.       Participate to the production of KPI/KRI indicators,

6.       Report and escalate any incident / alert to the management in a timely manner.

Margining responsibilities:

7.       Issuing notification, issuing margin calls, agreement of Margin calls to receive/ to be paid) with the Clients, Booking in Colline, substitutions etc.

8.       Settlement of collateral (cash, securities) for VM & IA - Interest management

9.       Perform the Accounting and handle the Nostro reconciliation

10.   To ensure BAU are being performed in accordance with the SOP & no deviations

11.   Ensure all the SLAs are met, including the mailbox management.

12.   Ensure Client confidentiality is always adhered

13.   Demonstrate a high level of accuracy & avoid repetitions by working with your direct manager and ensuring smooth flow of BAU.

14.   Ensure the KPI/KRI is regularly updated to assist your manager in publishing the same to rest of the stake holders.

15.   To aim at working independently on the process.

16.   Reporting of incidents immediately to the reporting Manager.

17.   Ensure any new additions to the process are communicated to your direct Manager and SOP is updated accordingly.

18.   The incumbent to participate in all team meetings, Department meetings and Town hall when invited and contribute to the meetings constructively.

Other responsibilities:

Ø  Participation in WB on a regular basis with necessary contribution towards the discussions.

Ø  Participation in the PSS and make contribution and contribute in resolving the problems at hand.  Sometimes the incumbent is required to take charge of leading the PSS too. 

Ø  Work closely with the stakeholders for effective resolution of breaks (Cash, Securities, unmatched, MTM etc.)

Ø  Escalate and report client incidents immediately to your reporting Manager and log onto Trouble tracker

Ø  Attend the Sessions organized on the Operational risk matters in consultation of your direct Manager.

Ø  Ensure high risk items / situations are escalated to supervisors in timely fashion. Ensure all risk incidents are escalated to reporting / functional line manager in a timely fashion and are tracked till resolution.

Ø  Assist team to ensure smooth functioning of the process by ensuring all day to day tasks are completed by the agreed deadlines, error free processing and accuracy by arriving at speedy and proper resolution of the escalations.

Ø  Analyze and understand all the scope of activities managed. Ensure the SLAs / thresholds on the respective activities, breaks are adhered to all times and followed up effectively for

Ø  Ensure daily checklists, Controls are followed and effectively utilized.

Ø  Effective mailbox management ensure all the queries received from the internal/external clients are responded.

The Role is highly transversal and is a real opportunity to work on complex topics (valuation, OTC products, risk, Legal, Client, IT, Regulation) with a lot of interactions with on-shore / off-shore business partners (Front/Middle Offices, MACC, TSU, Legal, etc.)

External : Clients, Counterparties, CCP, Vendors (Vermeg, TriOptima, etc.)

 

Expected Profile & Skills

·         Excellent analytical skills

·         Good communication skills (lot of interactions with clients, on-shore, business partners)

·         Capacity to work in transversal and complex environment

Qualifications

·         Graduate/Post Graduate in Finance with 4 to 5 years’ experience in a similar role

·         Experience in the IB environment and knowledge of Derivatives Collateral is extremely critical

·         Ability to identify and develop strong working relationship with internal partners as well as external clients

·         Proficiency in MS Office Tools (Excel, Word Doc, PPT, etc.)

·         Flexible working in US/AMER Shifts

·         Eye for Detail
