Responsibilities

The candidate will form part of the team working on liquidity management oversight for SG’s legal entities in the Americas, which represents over $ 200 billion in assets.  Key responsibilities include:
•    Execute on the defined responsibilities as part of the established continuous liquidity risk identification process 
•    Establish a formalized and proactive liquidity risk identification process to ensure Liquidity Risk Management (LRM) is well versed in internal and external factors. impacting liquidity risk, thereby enabling LRM to serve as an effective challenge function to Treasury.
•    Develop, refine, and maintain liquidity risk policies and procedures in alignment with regulatory requirements.
•    Contribute to the design, calibration, and maintenance of the liquidity risk limit framework. 
•    Execute on defined reporting responsibilities as it relates to committee presentations.
•    Challenge liquidity risk models, including evaluating the reasonableness of inputs/assumptions and performing output analysis to test the functionality of the models.
•    Propose modifications to the liquidity risk appetite and liquidity risk limits, as triggered via calibration or on a discretionary basis.
•    Act as a liaison between liquidity risk and Treasury, as well as other key lines of business.
•    Evaluate the appropriateness of key liquidity processes such as intra-day liquidity management, cash flow forecasting, collateral management, liquidity buffer management, and the contingency funding plan.
•    Complete reviews of lines of business and product types to assess their overall impact to liquidity risk.
•    Ensure liquidity is managed in compliance with internally established requirements and regulatory expectations.

Profile required

The RISQ Division's mission is to contribute to the development of the SG Group's activity by facilitating the objectives of the Business Lines while maintaining independent oversight through risk evaluation and monitoring. The RISQ division in the US supports all the activities in the Americas Region (US, Canada and Latin America), which is almost exclusively SGCIB-oriented.

Liquidity Risk Management is responsible for providing independent liquidity risk oversight over the entire liquidity management framework of Societe Generale (SG) Americas.  Oversight includes risk identification, establishment of the liquidity risk appetite, the design and calibration of liquidity risk limits, monitoring of early warning and key risk indicators, monitoring of changes in market conditions and internal business strategies which may impact liquidity risk, validation of the liquidity stress test model, policies and procedures, and reporting to senior management and risk committees.  

•    At least 3+ years of experience in financial statement analysis.  Specialization within the financial services sector preferred, but not required. 
•    An understanding of bank and broker/dealer assets and on and off balance sheet liabilities.
•    Knowledge of the behavior of capital markets products.
•    Some experience in one of the following; secured funding, collateral monitoring, prime brokerage, intraday liquidity or derivatives. 
•    Ability and experience to organize and lead across different time zones and cultures.
•    Excellent communication and presentation skills.
•    Strong analytical and problem-solving skills and demonstrated ability to work independently.
•    Ability to interface with business units and senior stakeholders in Treasury and across the bank.
•    The position requires an experienced and confident individual with management and leadership potential. The incumbent will be expected to have a detailed understanding of balance sheet analysis and capital markets.
•    MBA preferred, but not required.
•    CFA preferred, but not required.

COMPENSATION:
Base salary range does not include overtime pay, bonus and/or other benefits, where applicable. Actual base salary offer will vary based on skills and experience. The role is eligible for an annual discretionary bonus and includes a competitive benefits package including 401(k) plan with company match, medical/dental/vision, and other benefits for fertility, wellness, student loans and commuters.
