Market Data Specialist
Responsibilities
ABOUT THE JOB:
The aim of Global Banking Technology & Operations (GBTO) Canada is to deliver day-to-day services to Société Générale investment and corporate bank units and their clients to accelerate their transformation. GBTO differentiates itself from competitors with the pace of the agile transformation delivered, spreading the technology and data culture, shortening the decision-making process, and adopting a true industrial approach, leveraging on different teams either transversal or aligned to the different sub business units.
The team is called MRF which stands for Market Data Referential. The team of 5 people in target aims to manage the proper collection of market data (coming from External providers), format them, and expose to Societe Generale information system. In Amer region, the team is dedicated to Amer partners mostly located in New York, Chicago and Montreal but can be exposed to worldwide requirements.
What will be your DAY-TO-DAY?
In this role, your responsibilities will include:
- Interactions with Front officers to understand Business requirements in relation with market data capture (prices, rates, product description)
- Interactions with teams from different countries (France, India, Morocco, USA and Hong Kong) to collect requirements from business partners from Front or Risk officers, or Auditors (internal or external) or to develop expertise with other GBTO partners.
- Collection, Analysis, Design and prioritization of business requirements from Front officers, Risk officers or Auditors, to improve business processes and provide optimal delivery solutions
- End to End follow up of solutions, including testing of solutions and post delivery checks
Profile required
Skills and Qualifications:
Must Have:
- Good knowledge on financial products (Fixed Income, Equities, Corporate Actions, etc)
- Familiar with excel formula for data management
- Experience in investment banking
- Experience with external vendors (Bloomberg, Reuters, etc)
Competencies:
- Autonomous and Curious
- Rigorous
- Good communication
- Resilient under pressure
Nice to Have:
- Experience with Front or Risk Officers
- Knowledge in VBA macros
Languages: French and English
Ability to communicate in English, both orally and in writing, is a requirement as the person in this position will need to collaborate regularly with colleagues and partners in the United States.
