Responsibilities
Markets Product Control Specialist Operator (Risk) (SG Americas Operational Services, LLC, New York, NY)
Coordinate with other risk departments (asset class specialists, market and counterparty risk officers, enterprise risk teams) to ensure the risk management program is of the right standards and evolves in accordance with best practices. Support valuation and risk control processes by independently validating front-office inputs, ensuring consistency between risk metrics and P&L, and reconciling discrepancies in pricing and valuation methodologies. Contribute to interest rate risk oversight by analyzing curve shifts, pricing changes, and the impact on risk exposures and product valuations, ensuring alignment with internal models and regulatory expectations. Assess and monitor market risks in compliance with the bank’s risk appetite and internal policies. Regularly review exposures and follow up on limit breaches and excesses. Conduct portfolio analysis and report findings to senior management. Analyze and comment on daily and monthly P&L and risk metrics. Provide insight into the P&L drivers and income attribution of trading desks. Develop and maintain strong working relationships with trading desks to understand their business strategies and client activities. Analyze desk sensitivities to key market risk factors and ensure alignment with firm-wide risk appetite. Contribute to transversal and regulatory initiatives, including project workstreams and methodology updates. Collaborate with technology and engineering teams to enhance reporting tools and automate processes. Provide insights on local market dynamics, product trends, and client behavior specific to the US region. Participate in the definition and validation of global risk policies and methodologies from a US market perspective. Identify and escalate new or evolving risks and contribute to improvements in risk measurement frameworks. Prepare materials for the Monthly Risk Management Committee and contribute to global group reporting. Maintain strong relationships with local management, support functions, auditors, and regulators. Partial telecommuting permitted; on-site at 245 Park Ave. New York, NY 10167 when not remote. Salary: $188,178 - $240,000 per year.
Profile required
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor’s degree or U.S. equivalent in Financial Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Finance, Financial Mathematics, Computational Finance or a related field, plus 5 years of professional experience as a Market Risk Analyst, Credit Risk Analyst or any occupation, job title, position in financial markets, product control, or risk. Must also have experience in the following: 5 years of professional experience working with financial products (including Fixed Income and Equity Derivatives); 5 years of professional experience utilizing programming tools including Python, VBA, or SQL for data analysis and process automation; 5 years of professional experience working with senior stakeholders; 4 years of professional experience with market risk concepts and capital markets infrastructure; 4 years of professional experience utilizing regulatory frameworks (including Basel and FRTB); 4 years of professional experience developing and applying interest rate risk (IRR) methodologies to product control, valuation, and P&L attribution processes; 4 years of professional experience utilizing interest rate risk curve construction and interpretation to assess the impact of curve movements on valuation and risk metrics; 4 years of professional experience pricing interest rate risk products (including swaps, options, and futures) and validating valuations for both vanilla and complex fixed income instruments; and 2 years of professional experience utilizing P&L reporting, risk attribution, and income decomposition.

COMPENSATION:
Base salary range does not include overtime pay, bonus and/or other benefits, where applicable. Actual base salary offer will vary based on skills and experience. The role is eligible for an annual discretionary bonus and includes a competitive benefits package including 401(k) plan with company match, medical/dental/vision, and other benefits for fertility, wellness, student loans and commuters.
