Responsibilities

As part of the NPC team, New Product Analyst will be assigned several Business Topics to take the lead on:

  • Scoping: Perimeter definition (products, entities, underlying, currencies, markets etc.), expected volumes and timeline, constraints and expected deliverable identification (system tools, operational & Itec issues, accounting, regulation, tax, legal, liquidity, system limitation, budget, execution capacity etc.)
  • Study the feasibility and impact for Operations & IT to support new products, activity or set-up in terms of cost, risks and process capability
  • Propose adequate workflow framework to support the new business request. NPC member should assess the best balance between technical support, Operational Risk, Cost, and Timeline to propose adequate solution.

Responsibilities within SGCIB NPC framework:

  • Sign-off on behalf of GBSU Ops & IT aspect during NPC
  • Ensure with operational risk and production managers that adequate control framework is designed and roll-out before business launch
  • Report to business line sponsors and GBSU management the project progress as well as potential issues / decision needed through the established reporting channels.
  • In case of IT enhancement required, define the functional requirements in collaboration with the production teams
  • Provide detailed specifications together with GBSU IT and BA experts, when applicable coordinate the User Acceptance Tests (UAT)
  • Coordinate the implementation of validated solutions
  • Propose and conduct change management actions
  • Follow-up the launch of the activity of new product or new activity. NPC Member has to ensure that each value chain team will be able to take in charge for the new activity, with a good level of quality (i.e. without deteriorating the current indicators and processes) and with a good mitigation of the operational risk.
  • Formalize the study in GBSU Operation & IT NPC memo.
  • In case of operational incident or in case the set-up proposed in NPC is not followed, the NPC member should analysis the impacts and take relevant action: escalation, update of process from committee, process review etc.
  • Follow-up the pre and post conditions defined under the New Product Committee governance.
  • Contribute to monthly & quarterly reports regarding to volume cap, business statistic, challenges, success stories & time tracking.

Main deliverables are:

  • Formalized impact analysis within the NPC framework
  • Other formalized impact analysis (case of “non-NPC subjects”)
  • Participation for the improvement of the team efficiency (knowledge sharing, standardization of reporting, training on product and new process etc.)
  • Ensure self-awareness on the culture and conduct practice in SG

Profile required

  • University Degree, preferably in Finance / IT related subject
  • Relevant experience from a Bank / Financial institution. Candidate with stronger experience can be considered for Vice President
  • Good business knowledge of Global market and financing activities and produc
  • Good expertise of Front to Back trade life cycle (including Accounting processes is a plus)
  • Good knowledge of operational risk management on all value chain processes – trade capture, booking controls, confirmation, margining, settlement, payment, reconciliation, reg reporting etc…
  • Good technical & analytical skills to navigate through complex business processes
  • Good communication and negotiation skills to cooperate and work efficiently with all departments and stakeholders
  • Able to work in high pressure environment
  • Understanding of banking industry & of how change drives benefits for the organization, its customers and other stakeholders

Department Description

GBSU/MTR/QPM/TTM is the entry point for Front-Office requests, especially:

  • Support new business activity launches and leading both Operation & IT impact analysis within the NPC (New Product Committee) framework
  • Support other Front-Office driven initiatives (“Non-NPC projects”) by leading the Operation & IT study and implementation
  • NPC team is involved in the different phases : Study, implementation, post-go live follow-up
