Operational Risk Analyst - M/F/D
Responsibilities
Your future scope of responsibility will cover:
- Assisting Governance, Risk and Controls department within UK Global Banking Technology & Operations (“GBTO”) with the appropriate management and maintenance of the UK wholesale permanent control environment;
- Providing hands-on coordination & operational support regarding the codification and maintenance of “permanent control plans” with hands-on support for smaller departments;
- Liaising with RISK teams and Global Permanent Control Coordinators for Business and Support Units (BU/SUs), with a focus on those BU/SUs with no dedicated Operational Risk Manager function locally in order to understand approach to deploying specific global permanent control requirements, and to support local management in relevant roll-out activities;
- Analyzing guidelines issued by Group and supporting Global, Risk and Controls in communicating Permanent Control requirements, deadlines and methodology to Société Générale UK wholesale BU/SUs, with pro-active identification of potential issues / delays requiring local escalation; particular attention on identification of priority controls and requiring urgent deployment;
- Providing management information (reports, KPIs) on status of roll-out across UK wholesale platform or on specific areas, preparing the LoD1 permanent control governance for SG UK wholesale, producing materials for Risk Management Committees. Coordinating the Internal Control Coordination Committees and other committees/reporting as needed;
- Addressing management and regulatory queries on permanent control;
- Assisting GBTO management in establishing relevant action plans addressing self-identified issues as well as Second Line of Defense (LoD2) and Third Line of Defense (LoD3) feedback regarding permanent controls, risk assessments, operational incidents management;
Profile required
You will be best suited for this role if you have:
- Finance related university degree;
- At least 2 years of experience in a position related to operational risk, internal audit or in other department responsible for the control of operational processes;
- Proficiency in English (as most stakeholders will be UK based);
- Keen interest in operational risk management & investment banking (incl. support functions such as operations and IT);
- Analytical skills, with strong attention to detail.
- Advanced MS-Excel, knowledge of data analytics tools/solutions will be a strong advantage;
- Strong interpersonal skills (verbal/written), confident communicating with decision makers across business lines/locations;
- Good organization of work, solution-focused and proactive attitude with drive to reach effectiveness and minimize risks in company’s processes’;
- Ability to work in a team as well as with degree of autonomy;
- Ability to work under time pressure.
