Responsibilities

  • Managing the development of new products and related services within the Prime Services department.
  • Having a good working knowledge of Listed Derivatives and also having detailed knowledge of the current regulatory environment and any significant upcoming changes that will impact the Prime brokerage industry.
  • Staying current with regulatory changes and CCP and execution venue changes in order to plan and ensure that the Listed Derivatives product remains current, relevant and able to meet client requirements
  • Demonstrating strong organization skills, an entrepreneurial drive, client focus and vision in order to maximize business opportunities.
  • Working closely with peers both inside the business and in the support functions in order to deliver successful, cost efficient and controlled products that can match customer demand on execution, clearing and reporting.
  • Potentially supporting the sales team prior to and during pitches and client meetings to provide product expertise
  • Work with and support IT & Ops and other departments in ensuring continuity of UAT testing for clients
    as well as for internal IT deployments.
  • Willing to work under their own initiative or as part of a multi departmental team
  • Optimization of NBI in a sustainable manner (not only immediate profit), direct costs and scarce resource utilization.
  • Roadmap for automation, system/tools development/improvement and products
  • Comply with own trader and desk mandates, FOPI process, and the code of conduct
  • Work with other BU/SU to ensure that non-immaterial risks are duly identify and framed
  • Be transparent and report proactively any issues to your management and TRD
  • Avoid operational loss (input error, mispricing, terms of deals, desk procedure)
  • Act responsibly by adhering to the rules and policies of Société Générale rules and policies. Acting responsibly as the first line of defense against risks associated with our professional activities. This involves proactive communication, vigilance, and a duty to alert identified or potential risks.
  • Stay informed and undergo trainings in the field of the ESG to thoroughly understand the challenges and ensure the incorporation into daily activities, as needed, of the key elements that make up ESG: 1/ a culture of responsibility 2/ the support for the ecological transition 3/ support for the regional development

Profile required

  • Master / bachelor's degree in finance / science
  • Experience in financial markets
  • Deep Understanding of Prime Service Clients and Products.
  • Fluent English
  • Capacity to independently assess risks and issues, propose solutions, provide synthetic views with clarity
  • Industry knowledge of Prime Services business, with detailed knowledge on client service requirements.
  • Results orientated, with an ability to have a macro level view and follow through on complex 
    tasks/projects to completion.
  • Experience and understanding of complex Trading and Clearing environments, metrics, controls, 
    systems and available datasets
  • Ability to engage with senior client stakeholders and develop relationships based on trust and 
    professionalism
  • Capacity to deep-dive on data analysis with a “connect-the-dots” mindset to provide synthetic business
    views
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to speak to and lead front-to-back functions
  • Ability to manage large datasets and speak efficiently to IT teams
  • HKMA Enhanced Competency Framework (ECF) certification is preferred

Department Description

The Global Markets functions is a trusted partner to external clients (Corporates, Financial Institutions and Asset Managers) in market activities, offering a cross-expertise in Research, Investment and Risk Solutions, Execution and Prime Services. Prime Services and Clearing is a business line within Global Markets offering listed derivatives execution & clearing, securities Prime Brokerage (equities and fixed income), FX Prime Brokerage, OTC clearing, together with collateral management and financing solutions adapted to each client. Within Prime Services and Clearing, the Products team is in charge of developing and promoting the Prime Services platform and offering, working closely with all internal (sales, risk, IT and operations, compliance, etc.) and external partners (exchanges, CCPs, IT vendors and other service providers)
