Responsibilities

Department / Project Overview – GTS/PAS/DRE Team provides 24 * 7 production database support to all the MKT/GDI & Retail Banking customers across SG group. Project includes incidents, requests & changes management on all the Retail applications hosted on multiple technologies including Oracle, MSSQL, Informix, DB2, Teradata & Open Source RDBMS (PostgreSQL, MongoDB & MYSQL). The project is responsible for the complete life cycle management of databases including Migrations, Upgrades etc. Additionally the project supports all the maintenance operations, performance analysis & troubleshooting, patching & DRP exercises.

Skills required - Oracle database cloud expert , devops -

•     python development (venv configuration, python packages, best practice,     PEP     style guide, object oriented development)
•    CI/CD concepts and tools (Jenkins, Git ...)
•    Test Driven Development (mocking a python code, pytest, tests coverage ...)
•    Code quality tools (flake, sonar …)

Role Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Oracle Database Expert & Cloud Developer to design, implement, optimize, and manage enterprise-grade database solutions both on‑premises and in the cloud. The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in Oracle Database technologies, strong hands-on skills in PL/SQL development, and proven experience in cloud platforms such as Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI), Azure, or AWS.
This role requires strong analytical abilities, performance tuning expertise, and the ability to architect scalable, secure database and cloud solutions.

Key Responsibilities
Oracle Database Engineering

Design, deploy, and maintain Oracle databases (11g, 12c, 19c, or later).
Perform advanced performance tuning, query optimization, and troubleshooting.
Implement backup & recovery strategies using RMAN, Data Guard, and GoldenGate.
Manage database security, user access, auditing, and data masking.
Conduct database upgrades, migrations, and patching with minimal downtime.
Optimize database storage, indexing, partitioning, and memory management.

Cloud Architecture & Development

Design and build cloud-native solutions on OCI, Azure, or AWS.
Migrate on-prem Oracle databases to cloud platforms.
Implement automated provisioning, CI/CD pipelines, and Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
Work with cloud services including:

OCI Autonomous DB, Exadata Cloud Service
Azure/AWS RDS for Oracle
Cloud networking, security, WAF, IAM

DevOps & Automation

Automate database tasks using Python, Shell scripting, Ansible, Terraform, etc.
Set up monitoring and alerting using OEM, CloudWatch, Azure Monitor, or OCI Monitoring.

Collaboration & Leadership

Work closely with architects, developers, analysts, and security teams.
Provide technical guidance, documentation, and best practices.
Support production systems with on-call availability as required.

Required Skills & Experience
Technical Skills

15+ years of hands-on Oracle DBA and development experience.
Strong expertise in:

Oracle RAC, ASM, Data Guard, GoldenGate
PL/SQL programming
Performance tuning (AWR, ASH, SQL Tuning Advisor)
Backup & recovery (RMAN)

Experience with OCI, AWS, or Azure cloud environments.
Knowledge of microservices, containers (Docker/Kubernetes) is a plus.
Understanding of networking, security, and identity management in cloud.
Strong scripting experience (Python, Shell, PowerShell).

Soft Skills

Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
Excellent communication and documentation ability.
Ability to work in agile, fast-paced environments.

Preferred Qualifications

Oracle Certified Professional (OCP) or Oracle Cloud certifications.
Experience with Exadata or Autonomous Database.
Exposure to big data platforms (Hadoop, Spark) is an advantage.
Experience with CI/CD and DevOps tools: Git, Jenkins, Ansible, Terraform.

Education

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, IT, Engineering, or related field.

Profile required

Years of Experience –15+ years and above

Qualification / Certification – Engineering graduate / MCA / Computer Science Graduate or PG. Any relevant RDBMS certification is an added advantage.
