Quality Assurance Chapter Manager with French
Responsibilities
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Quality Assurance Lead/Manager to lead and develop a functional QA team within a regulated IT environment.
The QA Lead/manager is responsible for ensuring team capacity management , track advancement and ensure high-quality deliverables, defining and applying QA practices, and acting as a key quality partner for project and management stakeholders. The role combines people leadership, quality governance, and delivery oversight, with functional testing as the primary scope.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Delivery & Execution Oversight:
· Plan, prioritise, and oversee functional testing activities, ensuring adequate test coverage and adherence to QA standards.
· Plan team capacity aligned with priorities of several different delivery teams
· Ensure an transparent view of budget consomtion, capacity , task advancement , repriotisation and delivery
· Oversee the preparation and maintenance of test plans, test cases, execution evidence, and test results.
· Monitor testing progress, quality metrics, and risk exposure, and ensure timely issue resolution.
· Oversee defect management, including follow-up, analysis of root causes, and quality trend monitoring.
· Contribute to release readiness activities and quality decision-making (go / no-go), based on risk and coverage analysis.
Team & People Management:
· Manage the capacity planning and allocation of transversal QA resources across projects for different Feature Teams.
· Lead, mentor, and support a team of QA Engineers, providing regular feedback, coaching, and performance evaluation.
· Support professional development through training plans, skills development, and career path alignment.
· Promote a strong quality mindset, collaboration, and knowledge sharing within the QA team.
· Ensure to recruitment activities, including technical interviews and onboarding of new team members.
QA Strategy, Governance & Processes:
· Contribute to the definition and continuous improvement of global QA processes, quality indicators, and governance standards.
· Drive quality outcomes by improving early defect detection, reducing late-stage quality risks, and increasing test coverage effectiveness.
· Define and maintain the functional testing strategy in alignment with project goals, timelines, and risk levels.
· Ensure consistency and standardisation of QA practices, tools, templates, and documentation across projects.
· Ensure compliance with internal standards, best practices, and regulatory or audit requirements.
· Drive quality improvements based on defect trends, retrospectives, and lessons learned.
Stakeholder Management & Communication:
· Collaborate closely with developers, business analysts, project managers, and other stakeholders to ensure shared understanding of requirements and quality expectations.
· Act as the primary escalation point for QA‑related topics and risks.
· Act as a key QA partner for project and management stakeholders, providing clear status, quality assessments, risks, and mitigation proposals.
· Ensure transparent and structured reporting of QA activities and quality indicators.
Profile required
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Minimum 7 years of experience in software testing, including at least 2 years in a Team Lead or leadership role.
- Strong knowledge of functional testing methodologies, QA best practices, and SDLC (Agile environments).
- Experience with test management and tracking tools (e.g. JIRA, TestRail or similar), including reporting and governance usage.
- Experience with Mainframe/AS400 (JCL, Cobol, DB2) is a strong advantage.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, able to interact with technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
- Experience in the banking or financial services domain is a strong advantage.
- French proficiency at minimum B2 level (spoken and written).
- ISTQB certification or equivalent is highly desirable.
